Fleet Repainting

And if you knew anything, those are in Star Alliance Livery and have to be painted first.

I watched the CLT crew news today and they spoke about paint on new aircraft deliveries going forward. Why would any aircraft delivered from this point on have any paint job on it but Americans? The only thing painted  on any aircraft coming down the assembly line is the rudder. What is the big deal about changing the paint jobs?
I'll have to keep a close watch on some of the Toulouse and XFW blogs. I know that N291AY and N573UW have already been painted for delivery in US colors. Last update on N292AY was winglets painted, but not sure what happens going forward.

And in reference to AA painting schedule; I've just discovered that it is continuing, with another 738 going in today

N700UW will probably be one of the first to be re-painted.. Are you going to change your avatar when that happens 700UW??

thanks 700    701uw is also a star plane  which is here ron  when is that one going into the paint shop

$$$

The livery, and the paint to do it, were contracted and paid for years ago.  IOW, the US paint job has been paid for, and changing it now would cost money.  Parker is not about to throw away a good, paid-for paint job that will last years, and pay extra to have it changed.

A paid for paint job that hasn't been done yet. How would that compare with taking the airplane out of service for two weeks, the fuel and crew costs to ferry it to a paint facility to be painted and the extra time and labor it takes to strip it and prep it as opposed to replacing some paint that has been paid for?

Doesn't make them the most senior planes in the fleet.  Seniority painting for ALL planes, not just Airbus.  Say what you will, I'm grieving it as we speak.
Hook, line and sinker.... Classic CJ

Not quite sure still what the deal will be with new deliveries. Time will tell, I suppose.
With all references of *A supposed to be gone by the 31st of March, will the *A logos on all the a/c just be covered up by OW stickers?

You can't just expect Airbus to allow contract changes without US incurring additional costs.  Every time the company demands a change to an airplane it has already ordered (WITH the paint job), there is additional cost and possibly additional delay.

The airplanes will get their New AA livery on the specified schedule when they are already in for major work.  They will not be pulled out of service just to get them painted (Star Alliance liveries excepted due to marketing considerations and demands by the contracts with One World and Star Alliance).

How many years after the current US livery was introduced did we still have some Stephen Wolfe "Black Tops" running around?

Well smart butt, 700 and 701 are the first A319s and Airbus Aircraft US received from Airbus.
I'm sure ac 620 has them on seniority, and I agree with chock- it should be done by seniority, I mean, that's all those planes have is their seniority, right?
