F/A's interest in the pilot's discussion

I appreciate your input but disagree with your fellow East f/a sticking his or her nose in a pilot discussion.

I am not an East F/A. You are making an incorrect leap because I didn't like your disdain for his/her questions .

Observation. AOL advocates open communication yet you state that you find it irritating that an F/A participates in a open forum discussion. In your estimation it is an exclusive thread and an F/A is not properly designated to access information that is "yours."

You even start an new thread to protest this improper invasion of your private domain.

OK......

Ok, I'll bite. I get it, you are not a f/a. Your posts and visitors would suggest otherwise. So, tell me what is your position with US Airways?

So, you do not like the tone of my question. I have nothing against East f/a's and the only time I posted on their forum was in support of a retiring East f/a who had decades of service retired with no recognition. That was wrong. Flybynite was nice enough to jump in and clear the air. You seem to have a chip on your shoulder.

I have no private domain in a public forum. Your assumption is incorrect and I encourage you to RTFQ.

I think you may be really asking a somewhat simpler question - what level of management, whether pilot or FA, has what access to catcrew information.

Certainly the active pilots and FA's have access to some of their information, but only some.

When I was doing the permanent bids, the guys at resource planning would sine-in to CATCREW and their sine-in gave us access to much more information on the pilots, but no access to any FA info beyond who was on the crew for a specific flight (which we only needed for the pilots).

With CATCREW, the sine-in is what determines access. From the individual active pilot/FA up to whoever has complete access to all the employee data (presumably someone in HR or the VP level). So it could be that a FA supervisor would have access to some FA records in CATCREW that an assistant chief pilot wouldn't, but the assistant chief pilot would have access to pilot info that a FA supervisor wouldn't have.

Jim

Jim, you are correct. I used to do projects in Inflight. F/A Supervisors use a different level in CATCREW which gives many more personnel, operational screens concerning flight attendants, but they cannot access those same screens for the pilot group and vice versa. HR uses Oracle for their programs (having info from MyHR that the employee submits) but would not have access to CATS to pull up our schedules or anything; they have to request operational info from the Inflight Supervisor /Pilot office, in the case that it was needed.

Okay Big Boy.....learn to read. Go back and reread her post.

Not only is she a f/a but she is a f/a on the west and she gets how your "cult" has lost your mind.

Not only you have lost your mind but you lost any credibility.

How dare you or your cronies think it's okay to go surfing through personnel files for your agenda.

Have you no decency???

Apparently not.

I did RTQ....

I am flattered (I think) that you peered into my profile to try to determine my position within the company. Although under the current issue, it could be an indication of a bad habit.

The beauty of this board is that anyone can be anyone at all...... and technology and the Internet has created lots of new occupations within USAIRWAYS.

Keep in mind though that jobs change, and what I am, was, or will be doesn't change my stance that your initial language in response to Flybynite's concerns: " a little pot stirring," "making IDs to sell to illegal aliens," "provide evidence to back up your allegations," " your fellow East F/A sticking his or her nose in a pilot issue," contained more belittlement and dismissiveness than it did reassurances or factual responses.

If any 3rd party affiliated in any way with East Pilots had accessed data from Maestro without either contractual rights and/or the explicit permission of the West Crews, as well as thorough advance analysis by the company before any data transfer, the outcry would be equally as loud. I am very sure of this. What the outcome will be is anyone's guess but it most certainly has enough complexities to warrant concern by many parties.

Your inference that I seem to have a chip on my shoulder was predictable and won't even be addressed because....it is a Red Herring. Sorry that you are at that point in this exchange.

Take Care out there and big Shout Out to Flybynite.

I love this type of stuff. Let's dig a little deeper.

Some of Sharon's quotes:

"I am not an East F/A."

"As the F/A stated, CATCREW is the system where their information is kept. Being condescending or challenging the East F/A who inquired about this is not a good move, they do not have to justify their legitimate concern to AOL."

"Sending AOL literature to the East Pilots is certainly a political move, or was it meant to be a religiious experience for them?"

"The East F/As are not happy that AOL feels that they have a right to access crew files and to further escalate this conflict by sending it to the Pilot's homes."

sharon stone

My, My what a fine little catch I have here. Sharon is wearing a mask behind a screen name. I know of no West f/a sharing this point of view. If she is, then I challenge her to debate any West pilot wearing a Cactus badge backer with those views. She should be thanking Cactus Pilots for standing up to tyranny of the majority. You were in fact trying to stir the pot on the pilot forums and I called you out.

I invite you to come back over, big mouth, and keep stirring the pot.

I'm sure I am not the only one that will put you in your place and that goes for your pal, Sharon as well.

Oh for peke's sake....you haven't caught a damn thing.

Wake up little minnow....you are not allowed to go surfing through anyones personnel files. I would be just as po'ed over this if the shoe was on the other foot.

As for your smug attitude....well I can only assume your momma thought you were a prince.....Guess what.....? Fa's don't give a happy damn what your mother thinks about you.

And another thing....If I want to go on the pilot's forum...I will. It's an open forum. If you don't like it...bite me.

Big shout back to Miss Sharon :)

Big shout back to Miss Sharon :)

Oh jeez enough already, in true Beachboy "hands on face "fashion.

Have you ever heard the term, "lighten up Francis?"

Well your buddy Koolaide or Glucose Intolerant likes that term.

As I learned... ;) :p

I am sympathetic to your cause but you are getting creepy.

I have been told that I have no business posting on a public forum and I have responded that

"when you become a moderator then you can censor my posts " otherwise piss off - and this was to East posters.

The same applies to you.

You do your cause a disservice.

So be careful what you wish for.

Glad you said that - supposedly the company gave the East merger committee and USAPA the same info except the SS# weren't hidden or truncated. I personally got both emails and regular mail from the group that was to become USAPA - apparently they were "surfing through anyones personnel files."

Let's review my original post.........

I noticed a little pot stirring in the pilot's discussion by an f/a. Would anybody care to expand on this? Is there some concern that Leonidas is going to CATCREW, grabbing SS numbers and making fake ID's to sell to illegal aliens?

Comment in the pilot discussion group.

"Please keep me updated on this. I am quite interested in this whole thing. The f/a's on the east don't like the idea that someone has access to our info as well.....using it for personal reasons...and or political... anymore than anyone else"

My comments to this author, provide the evidence to back up your allegations that Leonidas is using f/a information for personal or political reasons.

I stand by my statement above. To suggest that Leonidas is using f/a's info with criminal intentions is a disservice to f/a's who are not interested in stirring the pot. <_<

To answer your question....and I have just received this info also......apparently none of the Fa's info was leaked..this time.

I have my eye on you. And not just me. AFA is tuned in as well.

AOL is walking a thin line as far as I'm concerned after this stupid fiasco.

This whole thing has really upset me. To the point that I shared this with my Dad. My father was in upper management (VP) with one of the largest Multi-National companies in the USA. They had unions too.(still do) And he respected them.

When I told him what you had done.....he was floored. And his response was....If one of my staff had done that...they would have been walking out the door in shackles. And knowing my father....that's what would have happened. He hates a thief and liar. Me too.

I'm giving you a little piece of info as to how other companies look at and handle these types of situations. I'd say you're in deep doo-doo. And I hope every one last one of you are fired.

Have you ever heard of the Wharton School of Business? My father, who is in his 80's holds a Phd. Do you have any idea what it like to sit at a dinner table with the CEO of an organization with more than 5000 employees? I hold a 4-year degree in Business with a minor in Journalism. You have any idea what it is like to debate a person who was on the other side of the table from unions.

You see, in my family being a union member is not a badge of honor.

Why don't you tell your father that being a member of USAPA is a huge embarrassment.

Never mind, I really don't care to exchange comments with an adult who runs to their father when confronted.

Tell him the both of you have my ultimate disrespect.

I'm not sure what all the fuss is with F/A info, other than just sticking up for East pilots and I didn't think the me-too clause covered that. Do you really think that AOL is interested in your name and address? If so, why?

Wow...it's a wonder we were not at the same table.

You have just described my childhood to a degree. And oh, yes, the unions were an issue. Poor old dad was disappointed when I decided to be a lowly union member. But he got over it.

Damn...I remember Mom getting so pissed when he'd call out of the blue to have a half a dozen guys over for dinner. But she'd pull it off with style and grace.

I didn''t realize who was at our table until I was an adult. They were the most creative and brilliant men I've ever met...to this day. They were from NASA. Smart...funny...and lovely.

So...yes...It's okay to talk to my dad about security issues. He worked in a vault for years....to prevent the Russians from scanning the info he was working on.

And hey....you can hate me to the cows come home....but dear old dad protected you.
