It may be the last time I get "band" but it certainly won't be the first.

By the way your spelling is atrocious "tuff" guy.

Serious question: Where did you learn to read & write?
Oh, you think the state "gave" him that do you?

No. That was funded through taxes.

There was nothing "free" about it.

And for that privilege he gets to PAY taxes for education for the rest of his life, rather he has kids or not. If he lives to be average age (78.54 years) that is about 60 years worth of taxes.

There is NOTHING free about 12 years of education in exchange for 60 years of taxes.

Now you have an excuse for stupidity. Like you needed it.

I love how all you Republicans are against Welfare. But you are sitting hear pissed off that the Government is not giving you welfare. No matter how you try to make it seem different. Its WELFARE. Just because they are giving it to the Airlines and calling it a Bailout. Its Welfare.
Republicans aren't against welfare, they believe it is better working and paying taxes rather than soaking the working class for people who see some advantage in getting over on the system. Bailouts of the 90's did nothing more than prolong the inevitable.....life support for mismanaged airlines. Same thing went for the GM bailout.

You mean like your president paying taxes. LOL

It wasn't a gift; it's an investment. Americans paid for it. The same way they paid for the roads he/she took to get to A/P school, the same roads he/she now drives to DAL, and the same way we all chip in to maintain the aviation infrastructure that makes all of our careers possible.

Too many people buy into the myth about the "self made man." In reality there is no such thing.

Oh, and I'll say it again; we paid for you to go through career retraining. That was a net benefit for society as a whole.

And I'd gladly do it again.

"You are where you are today because you stand on somebody’s shoulders. And wherever you are heading, you cannot get there by yourself. If you stand on the shoulders of others, you have a reciprocal responsibility to live your life so that others may stand on your shoulders. It’s the quid pro quo of life. We exist temporarily through what we take, but we live forever through what we give."-- Vernon Jordan

P.S. Next time maybe let SWAMT answer for themselves. I'm sure they can handle it.

You act like he did not fund his portion, and with his tax bracket his portion is FAR more than most. You also forget about the portions of the dead beats he is funding. If anything Americans owe HIM not the other way around.

Right...... because no one can succeed without socialism. That is the Democrat lie anyway.

You paid for nothing. I have already paid back several times the cost of my schooling in the last 3 years paying property taxes. I have to pay the government for the rest of my life for the privilege of living in my own home.

There is also the fact I paid into the education system for the last 20 years. In fact I have paid for the cost of my training several times over BEFORE I even stepped foot in the school. You also forget I paid for over half of it out of pocket.

And I'd gladly do it again.
You didn't do it the first time. Stop acting like I have not already paid the cost of my education several times over (and since) in taxes I pay every single year. YOU literally didn't do a damn thing for me. The government just happened to return some of the money they have been stealing from me for over 20 years. Again how is being taxed for 60 years for 13 (if you want to count kindergarten) years of education any kind of gift from society?

Again, the Democrat lie that one is sure to fail without the benefit of socialism. My father gave me that same lame ass quote. I have heard it before almost word for word. He subscribes to the Democrap as well.

A Forum by it's very nature is a group conversation. If you want to ask him a private question use the PM system. I don't speak because I feel entitled to speak for him, I speak because I don't like the socialist BS your peddling and I am going to do what I can do to debase it.

And I will tell you something else, ever since left leaning people learned I went to school on a grant they have been harping on it non stop trying to make me out to be some sort of hypocrite. Let me be very clear, I don't owe anyone a damn thing. At my income bracket I have paid FAR more than my fair share for over a decade. In fact unless you worked a lot of OT last year I am willing to bet I paid more taxes than you. That is not even counting my wife's topped out title 1 wage at American Airlines. So I guess if you want to go down that fair share road your ass owes ME.

Thanks for playing.
