Effective Date Triggers - Timelines...

I think your post correct regarding the logistics.  But the part I left in the quote is not really too far off the mark.  While I don't think he sees it a personal, I do think he (sometimes) sits in his office trying to "figure out how to ... screw you."  There is no doubt in my mind.  He is no fan of labor, and would GLEEFULLY fire all of us in a NY second if he could figure out a way to run the airline without us.

This statement basically says I'm completely not living in relality - there is no way the payroll systems can be merged on Dec 9th and they work differently. By saying this is some evil plot by Doug is so over the top it's not evn funny. You should work someplace else since Doug is sitting in his office trying to figure out how to personally screw you.
Is it impossible for two pay departments to both schedule pay checks to employes on the same day. I suppose both of them might not have access to a calendar until after the merger.

The truth is that he doesn't care if what he is doing screws an individual, as long as it increases the share price.

It's funny how no one cares about the company making money without profits no one can be paid car you remember steel mills car manufacturers etc if you bleed the company dry then there is no money to pay you there is nothing wrong for pushing for efficiency look at a the successful companies outside the airlines

We really need to figure out how to partner instead of enemies with management

"We" don't need to figure out anything.  Leadership is the job of management.  Labor takes its cues from management style and tactics.  There is no group of workers on the planet (taken as a whole) who are more motivated and more able to take the new American to an entire new level.  Unfortunately for management, that would also mean mutual respect with labor.  You just cannot earn labor's respect when continuously mistreat them and violate their contracts with impunity.

We need at least a 5 hour minimum period!

CAL/UAL has a 5 hour minimum day. Not blended or var minimum. But 5. Hours for every day you go to work. For everyone, even reserves.

I have a 3 day with 30 hours in PVD for 13.41 pay... No DH involved

Totally agree. Long ago we relaxed the duty rigs. Result -- The company scheduled crews less efficiently. Mgt has the tools but will only be as efficient as compelled to be.

This can be an even sum game for the company. Difference is, IT has to work harder to program resources more efficiently. Human nature to be as lazy as allowed.

According to the MOU, until the AA contract terms are implemented, contract terms are status quo.
The 5 hr. var. min should still apply. Claim it if you don't get it. Complain to the CP if claims denies it.
Let your union rep know what's going on, too.
I'm sure there will be a lot of problems in the near future.
Cheers.
