now they have been sharing the bending over at the table, now they get the full time loving by the company. why post any crap about the ramp's POS t/a unless they are getting ready to do the same for m and r

Balls to the wall. No half measures. All or nothing. Bring back something worth fighting for or come back in a box. I'm running out of cliche`s. But I'm serious. I've had it. I've been working harder, smarter, more efficient, learning, doing........for roughly half what I made five years ago. ( I noticed AGC's and up aren't doing too bad) No double talking junk TA like they brought back for fleet is going to cut it. Period.

Update Translation: Both the company and the union are about to give us a good @ss reaming, but only we the membership will decide if we get some lube.

Well.........Gee Whiz. That second update sure makes me feel all rosey and warm inside. I really wasn't expecting much before and now that this statement is put out by the IAM I'm not expecting anything positive period. I would like to make two points regarding these M&R negotiations.
1) Voiding and eliminating the change of control grievance through any of the contract talks is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!
2) Extending the current contract past 2009 no matter what is agreed upon is a huge mistake for the mechanics at this time.
The current end date of the mech and related contract should be when the IAM really makes a stand on all things important
which we all lost during BK I&II. Under no circumstances should we as mechanics allow this worst in the industry contract to
survive even one day past 2009.

A lot of words that say absolutly NOTHING!!! Typical iam. M&R are going to get bent over again. It's all about the dues money and nothing more. The End

that is almost the same letter they sent out to the 141, then a few hours later came the T/A... and it had an extended date. It reminds me of the IBT's assertion to force the company into new contract talks, someone on here( i won't mention the name) kept saying that the contract could not be changed, that the west had to take the east contract etc.. now with this letter is it not saying they are changing the contract
How about this, since the US Airways deal with the BK court supposedly can not be changed, go forward with negotiations for the west and get a better new contract, wait until 2009 for the east and give them the new contract, after all the west has been in amendable staus since oct o 2003, anything now will keep them from having any real contract improvements until 2012 or longer.......
Lastly, how do you tell when the IAM is lying to you.........

( if you don't know then here it is... look for their lips moving)

from the afformentioned second update
"In spite of current profits, it is very difficult to achieve these goals under the framework of the current
bankruptcy contract because of commitments the carrier has made through 2009 in its business plan
approved by lenders and the bankruptcy court. Negotiating these improvements may require a contract
that extends beyond the current December 31, 2009 amendable date.
If we don’t extend the contract beyond the current amendable date we are likely to find ourselves
restricted to relatively minor changes to the US Airways contract that would also cover former
America West employees. We would then have to wait until the start of traditional negotiations in late
2009 to seek substantial improvements."

here comes the truckloads of KY for the rank and file while the union leaders get champagne, caviar and a kiss........
