It looks like our group accepted a low standard contract.
We accepted work hours, vacation, sick time, compensation and a few other items that are consistently lower than our peers and our executive team will have to field some questions in the near future, however, the damage is done.
This post isn't intended to be a vent but it is an apology or sorts and I do want to pass this onto some other groups as it's a matter of pride and now, lost pride.
Pilots...East and West and Maintenance Control.
Older dispatcher fom the East. I've worked West flights for two years and I'm currently back on East Airbus. Dispite differences in ALPA/USAPA(and none of my business), both groups are from the same thread and it's a genuine pleasure working with both groups.
Maintenance Control...Simply, Hell of a good group of guys.
I hope this agreement isn't used against you. Our group is small but I wouldn't doubt the company trying to leverage anything against your efforts. We are a good domestic carrier with a nice international presence and please remember that we, the front line employees, are the ones that run this operation.

We failed internally, I hope the best for you.

How far below your peers were you before the agreement and how much did you close the gap, if any? What is the term of the agreement?

We averaged aprox 20+% below the Mega carriers during the majority of the negotiations and in the final talks, were offered an insignificant retro pay...work hours were reduced a little but still around 100 hours more per year without compensation considerations. License premiums were added but it still keeps us well close to the 20% negative side. Vacation was an advancement and is close to par with the others. Shell game in short with crumbs to feed.

Easier. We are basically back to 2002 wages and I forgot to add that the vote was 57/43%.

4 year term.

this is really sad, I remember years ago the Dispatch group sent Usair management a HUGE message in releasing flights by the book.. Brought the airline to a halt. It's really sad that
your negotiators apparently sold you guys out. Your group took a major hit over the years with jobs lost and etc.. to take a sub standard contract is just not acceptable . I guess
its Management 1 Labor 0 .. who's next Mtc lets hope they don't sell out there membership.

OK so I'll keep beating this dead horse...

If management has the pilots over a barrel, the rest of you are doomed

57/43? The negotiators didn't sell anybody out. The dispatchers ratified it by a 14 point margin. According to 57%, the negotiators did a great job.

A Percentage of the 57% were told the company would offer less if this wasn't ratified and this via by our own execs. Our negotiators told the company that they would recommend this offer to our group. The weaker and junior hands folded. The "Old Guard" are losing numbers. The company and a select number of union execs wanted this contract, thus my comment in my first post "our executives will have to field some questions".

" Our hands are tied." "Our backs are against the wall." "You are confused." "Liquidation is imminent."

Our group has heard it all before too. Don't worry, yours is not the only apathetic group on the property.

Maintenance is too, and we'll fold just like the others will. We're next.

Yeah, just like the ALPA team that brought you LOA 93. It passed by a similar margin.

I hadn't realized so many CLT pilots had transferred into dispatch. It's amazing how the company can play that card again and again, and that so many line workers so quickly fold their hand.
