Dip & Exit Financing

Lowest compensated workers in the industry? Boy that's really something to be proud of. I guess the brainwashing from CCY has taken root. Start singing the praises of Gangwal, Wolf, and Siegel.

The truth is that it doesn't matter what the labor costs are. Lakefield's team isn't smart enough to make the airline viable regardless of employee costs.

How many US shares do you own, Bob? Care to tell us why or why not?

I own neither, but I'd sooner invest in ACAA paper than UAIR (or whatever the BB symbol is this week). Again--with a labor-based CASM component of exactly $0.00, US costs are still higher than the totals for at least two of the existing LCCs. What this will tell anyone (without a slant, anyway) is that there is a significant problem of nonlabor costs. If those can't be lowered to LCC levels (and the current crop in CCY does not think they can be) then you either liquidate or try to extract it from the employees. Any employee with a brain sees this coming, and reacts in kind. Still want to invest?

And would you knock it off with the PIT stuff? It's like the A320 approach--don't like the post so I'll shoot the poster and I know you are brighter than that.

BUSFLT321,

You got to be kidding me, RIGHT??? I really don't think that all the labor groups are going to be so cooperative as the pilot group was. You will probably see the AFA and the IAM both getting their contracts abrogated and then they will seek self help, STRIKE and shut USAIR down. That's how it is truly going to play out after the first of the year. US won't even be operating this spring!!!

Again, that would be playing right into company management's hand. Do you think that Dr. Bronner, et. al. don't have contingent plans and money in place for shutting the airline down and replacing striking workers that will have been led down the primrose path to unemployment by their union management? Labor's bravado in this issue is laughable.

What I do posess is a pair of iron balls. balls beats brains about 75% of the time.
hey brainiac...trade 'em in for a set of brass balls...they'll keep the rust stains outa your undies.....

Man,

It sure will be great to shove our survival, and then success down the throats of all the naysayers. That alone makes the effort to make this work all worthwhile.

You are not a mainline employee, mainline does not survive, your brazilian barbie jet flying goes away too.

The path that US is headed on is the highway to Chapter 7.

Do not be surpirsed if US Airways announces contingent DIP & exit financing agreements that will require full labor participation in the new business plan to obtain the funds. The announcement may come before the December 2 S.1113© hearing to apply more pressure on the unions to obtain new CBA's and without consensual deals, increase the pressure on Judge Mitchell to "impose" new contract terms that prohibit "self help".

If history repeats itself, expect the company's union proposals to get worse before December 2.

Respectfully,

USA320,

Where in the hell do you get this type of information? Whoever is telling you this wants to obviously hang you..

AFA negotiations are improving (wonder why?... :p )

The threat of a strike from CWA and AFA is as real as the "sun in the sky".

Expect the company to be moving on the bigger problematic issues for labor.

PITBULL...DOESN'T THIS CONSTITUTE SOME FORM OF A SEC VIOLATION??

So, you guys spend a lot of time thinking about that don't you? So you've got a barn in this vision and a need for surgery as a consequence. Wow, is there a narrative to go along with this vision? Can we come up with some other metaphor for a week, please?

Hasn't the 'will of the financial community' really been the subtext of all this anyway? It seems that it really has to be one way or the other. Either the financial community buys the idea that management is putting forward or they're going to pull the plug.
[post="202718"][/post]

The only thing the financial community is willing to buy into is whether labor will come to work for practically nothing. They aren't the subtext to anything...WE ARE.
