Too bad that in 5 years USAPA was unable to get us a bigger piece of that profit, they thought rewriting the seniority list was more important.
Yea, I guess the "MAJORITY" thought that to be important to them, demoracy go figure.

Too bad our own ALPA MEC chose to give 40% of it away to the West pilots who already made more money. That profit sharing was for EAST sacrifices, EAST pay cuts, EAST loss of benefits...

Oh relax already. Three way relative position is pretty close to the Nic, isn't called the Nic or DOH, and is a "win" for everyone. Take a break and go out to dinner to celebrate with your wife... Maybe even a happy meal!
Sounds good. West starts it's relative position 1 number below the most junior wide body Captain.

I was at one of the CLT meetings yesterday. I think they were delibthose presenting, including the APA reps, was that if this MOU is accepted, and if there isa merger, then the Transition Agreement that currently governs the merger between EAST and WEST ceases to exist at the POR and is superseded by the new Transition Agreement that the MOU folds into. All that being said, it is the current Transition Agreement in which the NIC is found that agreement completely goes away at the POR.
Play TAPS and watch the Phoenix fall. How ironic.

Leonidas , not so much.

Does the American UCC know or care what we give up for the last 8 years?

Is bankrupt company now going to make us whole for what we give up in the past?
I keep hearing about the UCC controlling these negotiations, but what skin does Parker/Kirby have in this game?
How bad do they want our cooperation?
We are trading a bankruptcy contract for another bankruptcy contract.
When we signed our last one, the company promised we would share in the recovery and reap the benefits.
There is a lot of money in this agreement, but there are a lot of concessions, too.
Areas I'd like to see changed:
Medical Insurance - deductible and copayments are way too high.
STD (why can't the east have the west's deal?)
Why only 5 years grandfathered on the insurances? APA has their pension for LIFE. We should get lifetime extension on Life Ins/Surv benefits/STD west plan for all USAPA pilots.
We gave up profit sharing for a 12M credit? Do the math. This year USAPA gets 22.9M to distribute. We got shortchanged.
40M signing bonus divided by 5060 pilots = 7905 - 25% fed tax = 5928. Really?! That's my incentive to cooperate with this management team? That pot needs sweetened - what happened to pay parity payback over the last 7 years?
Sorry, the concession stand is closed. I'm voting NO. There is a better deal to be had in the 11th hour. There always is.
Cheers.

I have been an A320 captain for longer than the east has had A320s.

I am very consistent.

1) So what? You can't now even be suggesting that experience and longevity, in ANY form, have respectable value of any sort whatever....can you? Best run that notion by some arbitrator for his blessing first. Then and only then can you properly impress anyone. Fair enough? ;)

2) SURE you are, why...just note your originating thought that your own experience has some/any actual value...which, from your sacred St. Nic, we all know can't be what you truly believe and accept on principle....? :)

My gut hunch is the same. I'd further suspect that one way of ensuring no additional gains would ever be possible is to vote in favor of the recall....All one need to do to guarantee future failures and predictable capitulation at every step would be to put a few "Chipmunks" in there.

The East ALPA MEC thought they could buy peace from the West while they tried to steal their jobs.

Actually had ALPA remained the collective bargaining agent and you accepted the Nicolau as the seniority list, we would had completed our first post merger contract in early 2008 garnering the West pilots with a 10-11% increase in wage. The East pilots would have achieved an increase closer to 25-25%.

Not withstanding a SECOND post merger contract, that means LOA93 would now be a distant painful event in your financial history.

Just sayin'...

Your america west flight attendants have not had a contract since 1999, your west pilots last contract was 2004 when doug wanted a merger with US Airways. AMR CAL UAL have not had a contract since 2004. Your PHX based regional pilot attitude is the problem oh supermen legend in your own mind.

The East ALPA MEC thought they could buy peace from the West while they tried to steal their jobs.

However you color it jake; you must admit that handing the west anything of the profit sharing was a complete fool's errand...which would suggest that those alpa boys weren't all that bright, now wouldn't it?

Tom and Mike are no chipmunks. What is this magic spell the three snake oil salesmen that represent CLT cast on so many of you? Fuel your hatred? Get together for a good chest beating? An inner need to associate with a scab? What?
