CWA Tentative Agreement?

3) the cross utilization of US Airways and American Airlines employees and vendors after the closing date of the merger.

No passenger service employee will be furloughed. ( read the fine print, they forgot to say " to the street" because you will have to excercise ur seniority to its fullest.....like PHL )

Good Luck

Interesting. You didn't say a peep about the IAM T/A at UA and when asked your response was "the membership will decide" or "this is their first section 6 negotiations after bankruptcy" but you can't wait to drill into everyone how a similar agreement from the CWA is awful. If anything AA/US is happy, the AA agents will see what crappy agreements the CWA negotiates and hopefully fend off another election.

Josh
if the ta is as bad as it sounds then i do believe the agents will send it back with a large loud NO and force the company to come up with a better offer... i dont think AA/US folks are happy with this deal esp given that they have not seen the details but why would the CWA mail to 6500 people when all they have to do is put it online and have the shop stewards print it off? somethings fishy there.... me thinks this going to go down

Robbed go to the CWA thread, I posted the links to the Tentative.

Or you can go here and click on the links on their web page.

http://www.cwa.net

And it doesnt effect the AA folks, they are non-union, and arent a party to the TA, its between the CWA/ibt Alliance and US Airways, AA's CSA and RES have no say in the matter.

robbedagain. LCC/CWA/IBT/ Union Leadership is FRAMING CBA as a GOOD DEAL and TRUST US for the Rank and File. Go to the American Airline APSA web sight. It will be interesting to see how CWA Members vote and how many vote for their futures. SCOPE is #1 and i hope they aren't FOOLISH enough to give their jobs up to G2 SS ?

What is the point of the first paragraph? I thought the change of controls was already removed.

The change in control provision in Article 2, Paragraph B does not apply to the merger of US Airways and American Airlines as provided in the Agreement and Plan of Merger made on February 13, 2013 between US Airways Group, Inc., AMR Corporation and AMR Merger Sub, Inc. (the “Merger”)

LCC/CWA/IBT PSA's vote NO, stay in section 6 CBN, Merge, Vote CWA with AA PSA's, say bye-bye to IBT, and Bargain for a Industry Leading CBA in 2014. SOLIDARITY !

Your current contract protects you from outsourcing. Something seems wrong.
Tim. Imo... and i could be wrong but this TA seems to be a letter of agreement that will be attached to the existing CBA of the CWA/IBT represented Passenger Service agents at US until a new contract is reached under Section 6 negotiations or a Transition Agreement is reached. It appears to me to be a "helping hands" agreement. The CWA/IBT seem to believe the company will negotiate in good faith toward a new contract once they deliver this "helping hands" agreement. Does anyone believe that?

Cargo,

It is a letter of agreement put in their contract, read the links I posted.

Their alliance has put a huge spin on it, read the summary.

And there is no transition agreement, AA is non-union. The CWA/ibt has to get around 2,000 cards from AA to force an election under single carrier status, otherwise the whole group at the new AA will be non-union.

700,
Never implied it was a transition agreement. It's a Letter of Agreement proposal being put forth to the members represented by the CWA/IBT at Passenger Service for US. It is a "helping hands" agreement. An agreement that welcomes in the wolf at the door. Once the wolf is in it's difficult to change the course of consequence. Why else would the company propose it? Of course that's just my opinion. Just wanted to clarify it is not a tentative agreement on a new contract for the PS at US. Just a LOA that undermines the leverage in the section 6 negotiating process for any meaningful gains.

They just finished Section 6 negotiations, there is no transition agreement as AA is non-union.

When did they finish Section 6? Although it's not my group; where are they in contract staus? Are they under a recently ratified CBA? If so... I stand corrected.

They have been in Section 6 Negotiations since November of 2011.

The CBA was ratified in 2005 and West placed under it in 2006.

This LOA to the CBA is the end of their Section 6 negotiations, with a duration of 18 Months to the CBA.

The loa resolves their section 6. The duration was extended 18 months. Negotiations are over. They got pantzed and ah got everything he wanted. These unions blow.

They will have a vote for union, and will win it then will sign a new deal sometime around 2020 for more peanuts and will have half the members. Not sure if the upstairs has a network for the masses that can fight against this anti labor rag.
