CWA Files for Representation Election

Uh, you obviously don't pay much attention to details...
Agents’ Committee Has Day in Court
Attorneys for AMR have agreed to meet with the attorneys representing our committee on the committee’s request for documents, and asked for the hearing to be postponed until Feb. 29, which our attorneys agreed to. So, while American Airline management is denigrating our committee in meetings with agents, its attorneys and the bankruptcy judge have recognized the standing of the committee.

This group doesn't have any legal right whatsoever to represent employees at American Airlines. There has not even been an election yet! They should be laughed out of the courtroom.

Remember the union is there to impose its own agenda, NOT represent the agents.

Josh

This should be illegal that they are allow to waste the court time when they do not represent anyone
at AMR

The APFA (an actual interested party) filed an objection, the CWA joined in the objection and the dues-hungry union spins it as though the agents' ad hoc committee has been recognized. Gotta make your future dues-payers think you're accomplishing something.

One would think that agents are far too wise to fall for this kind of charade. It is pretty insulting and obnoxious to try to take advantage of a situation for CWA-only gain.

Unfortunately, the ambulance chasers like John John see no wrong in their actions. Piggybacking on the another union's motion to try and look effective? That's a new low. Even the TWU hasn't tried running on someone else's coattails to that degree...

Wow! some have a problem with the AA agents having a voice interest requesting documents requesting proof of claims in the bankrupisty proceedings. Why would the objectors care? Every frontline employee has repsentation in the bankrupisty proceedings and some have a problem with one group having attorneys representing a committee for the agents. Is there an underlining agenda?
“American's top management meets Wednesday with officials from the Allied Pilots Association, Association of Professional Flight Attendants and Transport Workers Union to outline the changes it wants in their contracts.”
What frontline group is missing?

The reaction of the naysayers speaks volumes

Struck a nerve
The Ad Hoc Committee representing agents was recognized in bankruptcy court on Friday, when the judge agreed that AMR can pay its financial advisors a monthly retainer but delayed ruling on the larger multimillion-dollar payments until a hearing at the end of February.
The Ad Hoc Committee for Passenger Service Agents has objected to the $15 million “completion fee” to Rothschild, Inc., as well as millions more tagged to a percentage of “new capital raised” during the bankruptcy process. AMR is proposing to pay out these huge sums even as it seeks to cut labor costs, with agents’ jobs and benefits possibly at stake.

It's spelled "bankruptcy." Normally I don't point out spelling, grammar and sentence structure failures, but you're hit the trifecta in the short post above. Tell me that you aren't the person writing or proofreading the materials you send to the agents, 'cause it iisn't very impressive. If you want to organize a work group that has never (IIRC) been unionized, you and the CWA really should put forth some effort.

Sorry you don’t like the message. Why the personal attack

Can you correct it for me
Today is a sad day for frontline employees at AA
Why are you boasting?

Having review the order for interim reimbursement of professionals, I can't find the ad-hoc committee mentioned anywhere in it. John John, can you point me to where the judge specifically recognized the AHC? Looks to me like it's riding the AFA's coat-tails - even using the same attorneys. Even on the notice list, it's listed as Ad-Hoc Committee of customer service agents/AFA-CWA.

So what exactly has the AHC done? Using the AFA/CWA lawyers, joining the AFA/CWA motion - has it accomplished anything by itself?

Quite honestly, I don't consider my post as an ad hominem personal attack. I view it as constructive criticism, not a personal attack. It's a written message board and all we have are the words we think and type. I apologize if you interpreted it as an attack.

The objections were submitted by attorneys form the Association of Flight Attendants-Communications Workers of America, which filed for the American passenger service agents
