Combined Travel Rules

90% of initial check in is done online or at a Kiosk.  Speaking for myself, most of my work with an agent is just to roll over from one flight to another.
I would have thought that the checkin would have been at the airport not online. At least at the airport you know the person is there. Online they may never get there

True, but when they are paged one time with no response, the agent marks the listing accordingly and moves to the next name on the list.

"Beginning this summer, non-rev travelers will move to legacy American’s system of boarding, which is to board by check-in time. This approach gives all employees an equal chance at every flight, and is the system that the majority of employees use now. It’s also the right approach as we considered the technology platform upon which our employee travel system resides."

That's good news.

Thanks for posting the rules. Haven't seen anything on our side of the aisle as yet. Good to know what to expect.
It's in your email Jim. We all got the same notification. Only one version out there.

So,  that means we are losing 8 one way (currently AA gets 24 one way) D3 passes.
Yes, but now parents and registered companions are unlimited. A wash for some, a gain for some and a loss for others. In the end, if your parents are alive and like to travel, this is a gain for them. Also the registered companions are treated more fairly. Plus you get 2 more D1's.

There appears to be some malcontented senior Airways f/as on Facebook who are very unhappy about this, screaming that this violates their contract.
if it does wouldn't it be a moot point when SCS is filed? Passes are a privilege not a right. No more must rides when commuting to work maybe?

I completely agree; I don't know where in their contract they think they can dictate terms of travel privileges, I would think that would be up to company discretion.

remember if you're checking in at a kiosk it must be more than one hour prior to departure, otherwise you won't be issued a verification document to get through security... that's why I always bring mine with me, especially if I'm running late.

What's wrong with using your ID to get through security?

Here's the strangely-worded statement from US AFA:

AFA US Airways E-Line - January 2, 2014
Non-Rev Travel Program Announcement from the Company
The Company has just released the travel policy for employees at the New American.  The policy is set to be effective in two (2) phases. The Retiree phase is to be implemented during the month of January and the boarding priority phase which is slated to be implemented "mid-2014".
The Company intends to implement the First-come, First-served (FCFS) boarding priority which is a clear violation of our 2013 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
There is at least one other labor group at US Airways that has Contractual language addressing pass travel by Seniority. We will be consulting with them as well as our Staff Attorneys to determine the best course of action.
MEC President, Roger Holmin advised the Company weeks ago that a decision on their part to go to a FCFS travel policy would be in direct violation of our Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
Clearly, the Company has no respect for contract language. The name of the airline is changing to the New American; however, it's clear that's the only thing changing.

Really? That's interesting news to me. My paychecks still say American Airlines on them. Guess I must work for "Old American"

I have a question...

Lets say i check in via the web at home or via my phone... but have no printer..  can you still use the kiosk to PRINT your boarding past or will it reset my checkin to when i used the kiosk?

they are a right if its in your contract...

i wonder how they are going to handle this... at least till SCS..   i mean it might bite them in the ass instead of having an equal chance to all the seats they will only have access to any seats that were awarded to FA's

so everyone will sign in and put in for the seats availaible like now... the list will populate as it does now... but instead of a name it gives FAUS if you have 15 FAS try to for 15 seats but only 2 fas were able to get in FCFS.  then they will arrive to the airport and then the most senior FA's will get the seats availiable to FAS... (in their union)

That does not violate their contract.  They would still be getting awarded by Senority... just not the entire group..  only within theirs..
