Combined Travel Rules

What is up with the positive space commuter coupons available to crewmembers only?
Rumor made up by a disgruntled/jealous/scared USAIR employee. In regards to your other rumor about an app that will sign you in right at 24 hours. This is the first I have heard of such a thing. I would venture to guess that it is not allowed as well.

First off, the app would have to log you in to the system, access the NRTP area, and fill in the information necessary/check the right box to activate the checkin.  The number of reasons why this would not be allowed is huge.  First and foremost ,the opportunity for introducing malware into the mainframe system with auto-login apps was proven years ago, and most (if not all) major computer systems have security software that will block such apps.

Have you seen the popups on a lot of current computer systems that require you to enter some visually distorted combination of numbers/letters in order to proceed with signing on?  These popups are a direct block to auto-signin apps and appear any time your sign-in activity raises questions in the security software about your access to the system.

MCI, if every predecessor employee had done his/her very best to make the airline the very best, your argument might hold some water. However, as someone who is over 60 but new to AA (relatively speaking), I work with (and have worked with) senior employees whose only accomplishment in their many years with AA is that they didn't quit and they didn't die. I don't think that is deserving of any recognition whatsoever--especially when it comes to granted benefits like non-rev travel.

I just flew with a 20+ year flight attendant whose approach to the service is strictly get it done as fast as possible so that she can go sit on the jumpseat and play Angry Birds for the rest of the flight. And, when she came up to First Class to "help" me, she brought that same attitude with her. I had a F/C full of revenue passengers and military upgrades. They all deserved some special attention. They didn't get it from her.

Don't tell me that just because she's paid her union dues over the years, she deserves to get on the airplane ahead of any one else.
Jim, let's set the record straight here right here, right now! Nowhere on this blog did I ever ask for, or expect any special treatment because of my age, or the fact that I'm retired!----- Like yourself, I did not put in all my 40 years with AA. TWA had the same policy as that which is going into effect now. Retirees board after active employees. So I can't really expect anything else!------ But they did not board after "unaccompanied" parents, or children, of active employees!---- When I talk "respect", I mean just that! TWA had enough "respect" for the employees of Eastern Airlines, and Pan Am, to give them reduced rate, space available, privileges, even though they were no longer in business. As far as I know, they did this up until the AA merger/buyout! ------ Now I'm not suggesting AA do the same, what I am trying to do is show the differences in culture between the two Airlines which frankly can be dramatic!!! And yes Jim, you'll always have a few slugs in any big business!

Yes, MCI we've (you've) plowed that field many times with the same result.  I don't think you've convinced anyone other than yourself that TWA was the perfect airline compared to AA.  When I was in the oil business, I flew TWA on several occasions to Europe.  Service was wonderful.  However, it was still just an airplane flight to somewhere I had to go for business reasons.  I am a nAAtive that does not think that the TW people were treated fairly.  Let's not forget, though, that was over 10 years ago.  It's time to move on.

Holding a resentment--particularly against someone or something that doesn't care what you think or feel (see also, American Airlines )--is like drinking poison and expecting the other person/thing to die.

No Jim TWA was not perfect, far from it. And even though I spent 33 years working for them, I'm not the type to have TWA put on my tomb stone! And I don't, or won't, play the martyr role!----- My life now is no longer tied to Aircraft, or even flying! It's my family! My wife! My Kids, and Grand Kids! It's California where I grow up! It's Kansas City, and the Virgin Islands, where we now live! And all our Friends!

MetalWhoever----- You should show a little respect! Most retirees were moving metal when you were still peeing in your dippers!
I might feel that way if retirees to be were not licking their chops to sign a horrible contract because they thought they were going to get a buyout deal.  I never heard one retiree wanna be say anything about concessions, all I heard was "Do you think they are going to offer 5 and 5".

What makes you think American Airlines should haul you around the United States for free when you are no longer contributing to the airline? I am not judging you I am just asking you to share your logic. What makes you think you should be able to board before an active employee? You have had a whole career to enjoy your fly benefits. Don't you think the current workers should have that opportunity as well?

Then why do you keep posting the same stuff over and over about how unfair AA is compared to TWA?  No one, especially AA, cares.

Some people love to live in the past and can never get over it.
