I have never heard ATC say "USAir's" over the radio! Where did that come from? I'm a F/A but have been in the flightdeck hundreds of times over the past 19 years and I can honestly say I've never heard it said that way! I do think the "cactus" call sign is fitting for this mess of an Airline....it's very appropriate because it shows NO professionalism like the rest of the Airline! And it should be quite funny to hear that call sign over ATC in Europe!

You would have to be there for longer than just a pee break. It's not just this airline but I hear United's, Northwest's, Continental's etc.

Why? They've heard the word before. Latin in origin so it shouldn't be a problem. Maybe if you spoke more than one language, you'd understand.

Wow....now that's dedication! And FWIW, I speak more than just one language.....IMO, I just think the current call sign "USAir" is more representative to the USAirways name that's all.

The decision has already been made and Doug has spoken on the issue. The call sign will be CACTUS like it or not. I guess the east MEC will file suit in the superior court as this is unfair. Lets go on the people's court, at least that way we can get some free airline publicity

Nice to see the ,INSULTS DELETED BY MODERATOR of USair as represented by USEast,Beachboy..Nice buns by the way,and that lithographer from ISP, Art are out in force tonight.Sheesh what a waste of bandwith. What a bunch of pathetic clowns.

Oh such high praise from Tempe! I am so honored  This coming from a band of fools that could not guide there way around a city block on Indian School Road much less an airline. I say AW is a waist of airspace. So what right? Glad I struck a cord though!

Here's one who knows streets in PHX and was wishing he and is fellow easties were going to hose us so he could bid back home!! I bet this is just another unemployed furlough recently returned. Be glad you still can pay your bills son...

Cactus 731 you are cleared to land into Londons Gatwick Airport runway XXX. How freaking TACKY! Europe doesn't even know what one is. Like one cosmic joke. Like the rest of this airline.

how the hell is that "tacky", and why the hell does it matter? it's onlyi used between ATC & pilots anyway. Typical east attitude, thinking that everything has to stay the way they are used to.

Look how West is running this Circus, why not do it Easts' way. DoUgIe would screw up a one car funeral. International to him is a flight not on a RJ!
