Who pulls off the drag look better, Gary Kelly or Branson?

So, you finally admit that DL isn't a new entrant...
new entrant doesn't refer to whether a carrier has EVER served an airport but whether it does at the time it wants to.

as much as you and others want to fight it, US airport access laws came from the recognition that the US market is best served by MAXIMIZING the number of carriers that serve the market and eliminate government involvement in the selection of carriers in favor of anyone that wants to serve the market may do so.

it is the most democratic way of increasing competition.

sorry, but money doesn't buy access to US airports at the expense of other carriers. That is just the way it works here in the USA ... may not be the case in other parts of the world.

If you think it is a good thing to allow ANY carrier to start buying its way into an airport at the expense of others, think thru the ramifications of where it might go.

AA, DL, or UA could easily start pulling the same trick at the expense of other carriers.

The industry and the country will be hurt by going there.

Congress DID think thru the implications of allowing public assets to be preferentially controlled by private interests to the exclusion of the free functioning of the marketplace and put in place processes to ensure competition occurs.

DAL incorporated those ideals into the 2006 agreement, WN agreed to them, and whatever happens to the two gates won't change the necessity for DAL to abide by those regulations.

In fact, whether the WN fan base can see it or not, WN's interests at DAL are better served by NOT allowing other carriers to come in and take chunks of the remaining gates but rather that they be under city control.

Are you now just making up definitions to suit your narrative?

It's interesting... WT claimed that DL was disadvantaged, and a new entrant, but now they're not, yet somehow it was relevant that they'd served DAL long before anyone on this forum was born...

I guess it's easy to get lost in all the spin. The fact is that DL is neither disadvantaged or a new entrant, and they've had a decade to try and make more out of their offerings at DAL. They could have offered to buy out AA's lease from AA, or flown 50 seaters to LGA and DTW.

And yet, they didn't.

Once again he is changing narratives to fit the outcome reached or getting close to being reached.

Maybe he has other ways to entice Dallas City officials support.
The Dallas City Manager is the only person to decide who will get these two gates.
