Boeing Doesn't See AA-US Merger

I find it a bit amusing that a bunch of people on the internet can claim to know better than Boeing.

It's not like they've been a supplier to the industry longer than any other company in the world.

Oh, wait. They have.

They've been a party to just about every airline bankruptcy in US history.

Forgive me if I put a little more faith in their judgement than I do with analysis done on the internet by mostly anonymous forum participants.

Yeah, it's not like a record aircraft order along with financing charges coming into your own bank accounts would ever have an influence on your deicision making. Not even if the merger could put that order in jeopardy. You really are a management stooge regardless of the issue or the company.

All I know is, I haven't found one Employee that supports Horton or his plan...I see many many shopping for job's people with 15- 20+ years.
The funny thing is they are getting job's with better benefit's and pay.So who's losing here? This airline is on a slippery slope....Put your resume out
boys. This ship won't float as advertised... I give it 2 years back in BK. Why on earth would a employee work for 16 years without a raise? Much less a 3500 dollar deductible for medical at a major corporation?

The only reason an employee would stay is fear and ignorance as far as I am concerned.

short answer....
Boeing is wrong...
yet the option is AA standalone for now... and Boeing supports that. by the time the 1113 process is through, US won't look as attractive to AA employees.
And it is worth noting now that all carriers have reported their 1st quarter results that AA came in 2nd among the largest carriers in both fuel cost paid and 2nd in RASM growth. (and you know who was #1 in both categories).
.
US did do average in both categories... but it still goes to show that AA plus US would result in AA's performance pulling US up instead of the other way around; on that basis, there is no reason for the non-labor creditors to support a merger with anyone that is performing worse than AA.

but if AA continues with its stand alone plan they will be right back where they are currently are. especially if the fuel prices continue their climb to the end of earth

Parker told the pilots that all of the airplane orders (Boeing and Airbus) would continue. If true (and if Parker isn't lying), then I don't get the focus on the large Boeing order last year as driving Boeing's statements about a merger with US while AA is in bankruptcy. If Parker was telling the truth, AA's airplane orders won't change whether or not there's a merger with US.

And what is the sample size of your survey?

I think I've heard this before, how it suck so bad at AA and that there are many better paying jobs out there, etc. etc. etc. Standard-issue unionistas BS pure and simple. All talk no action.

If AA goes to a second round of chpt. 11, all they will be doing is copying the US business plan (imitation is flattery) Unfortunately for a stand-alone US, if fuel prices continue to climb that more likely means chapter 7  No wonder US management and employees are sweating bullets, going for the Hail-Mary hook up with AA.

Have no fear, you will be on the balls of your financial arse right along with us....
AA isn't, and won't be in any great position either..
What's that saying about people in glass houses?

It is happening, just in the last month - I know of 2 AMTs leaving for SWA starting pay about $27.00ph. A buddy out at LAX said they just lost two AMTs to Fed Ex - starting pay over $35.00ph. There are many more - those are just a couple that I've heard about recently.

im not looking for an aa/us merger but the way i see things is that given how things arecoming along now the merger i believe isin the works

This.
It's going to interstimg to watch the epiphany Boeing and the other creditors have after our contracts get changed in a few weeks.

This is all posturing, all part of the dog and pony show.

The merger will happen and Horton will be out in the end.

I agree... Boeing is posturing... posturing for more A/C sales to the newly merged behemoth of AA/US!

Can you blame them?

Or they are really concerned about loosing a loyal customer to Airbus's BIGGEST CUSTOMER!........If you were Boeing would you believe any promise of an order from Parker??............Nah, didn't think so.

All we are hearing about the jobs US would save...But read the term sheets...sounds temporary to me.
But you would have to wonder what plan is US proposing that would make the UCC stand up and take notice.

The UCC could give a rat's arse about jobs saved.
