August 2013 Pilot Discussion

BS sir! Are you trying to tell us all that he had no sick time?...No available opportunity for disability, as is the case for any line pilot?

Spare us all such wanton BS.

I have no idea of his sick bank. It’s his own business, and not germane to the discussion. As long as he is actively the President of USAPA he is contractually paid a salary at least 85 hours based on what position "he can hold." He is CONTRACTUALLY the only pilot on our property paid that way. The union could bypass LOA 95 with the UOM for ALL OTHERS and demand they only accept 85 hours and all your "honor" stipulations, but not with the President, any president...Bradford , Cleary, or (thank God not) McKee. How does he access his sick bank? Guess what, it’s through the company, and they have (as of yet that I know) not allowed him to do so. Maybe McKee can find Cleary and our Trademark, and visit Parker and beg him to let Gary use his sick bank, contrary to the contract (remember, our ALPA contract survives bargaining agents.) Is that enough "BS" for you, or do you have some smiley faces for me tonight :) RR

And what exactly is the position that "he can hold" as a pilot, if medically prevented from flight duties? I've had surgeries that put me offline for a goodly while, and didn't see any semblance of full pay throughout...just sayin'. So; I must ask again just what makes this person so truly "special" that he can actually "accrue" sick time whilst sick? I'm sure we'd all like to discover how to do that "trick". Many of us couldn't even accrue sick or vacation time while away at war...And you've apparently, not the slightest semblance of any rational answer...? Did I ever mention how much petty "politicians" of any kind digust me? ;)

"Is that enough "BS" for you, or do you have some smiley faces for me tonight :) RR'

No worries there sir. You've already offered FAR more than enough BS for my taste.

And I want to frame this one more time for East and his "honor" logic. After months of campaigning and lots of election union moneys spent to hold votes and runoffs, I am finally elected President of USAPA. I have 1200 hours in my sick bank, and fall (no beer jokes, please!) down the stairs of the union hall and break my left hand so bad I cannot not fly for 10 months. The Company will NOT LET ME USE MY SICK BANK, so I am supposed to "quit" the elected position in order to draw sick time? Really? The intent of the founders was not to penalize sick Officers, all are desired to fly and remain current. But give me a break, do you not see the politics here? I believe there is actually a one year limit on holding any office being non-current, for any reason. Do a little addition folks, this is probably all moot anyway. RR

East, the "what he can hold" is a reference to the document you STILL have not read...LOA 95. It means that as a pilot under full FPL, (LOA 95) your pay is based on what you can hold, not what you fly. I can "bid and hold" the 76, but fly the little bus. Under LOA 95 the President would be paid 76 pay no matter what his choice. Others would too, but only the President's pay is contractual, the rest could (and should) have been reeled in years ago by the UOM (again. Cleary, Mowrey, Parrella, Brennan, DiOrio, etc.) I understand most of our pilots are not familiar with all this, I guarantee the names I just spun off, AND McKee know it well. RR

" It means that as a pilot under full FPL" Proper apologies rendered, but in my estimation; there's no such thing as a supposed "pilot" that, by choice, doesn't ever actually fly. I've never considered myself as a functional "pilot" whenever grounded for medical reasons, and I'll extend no grander consideration to politicians.

Is that why people seek union positions?...In order to NOT fly? Sheesh!

Justify it however you wish. No line pilot would be treated as that man is being....period. It's wrong, and at least at some level; I'd hope you know that.

"I understand most of our pilots are not familiar with all this," Indeed. Perhaps all should become more familiar with this rancid BS. Off merely to war? = No soup/vacation/sick leave accrual for you! Politician?...Forget all that....What can we do to pay you, let you accrue sick time while you're sick, and just make you happy?...So perhaps you'll make us happy? ;) Sigh! No possiblity of any corruption there!

Duh. LOA 95 is an ALPA document. We are stuck with it for now. I despise it and everything is represents. I have spent hours with various reps trying to get them to act on mitigating its wrongs. Does that mean Hummel has to quit to maintain "honor?" Does it make you more honorable because you hate it more? Enough. Please read LOA 95 . RR

By no means, but I'd be a bit more impressed with the man if he chose to properly accept nothing more than any line pilot would receive in the same circumstances. Such could well be done, but then..the bottom line is that those who seek out the lives of politicians generally have some inherent personal deficiencies to begin with (as do we all), so yammer on about honor, that you so contemptuously feel the need to place within " marks. IMO; the only reasonable way to hire politicians would be to establish a lottery among those who DON'T want the jobs. Those who do, have throughout at least contemporary history, proven ill-equipped to actually serve the interests of others.

"Please read LOA 95" What for? Why anyone can ever "get away" with despicable behavior's never been my concern. "Follow me men!...But if I fall...my arse is covered at better than your line pay, and I'll even accrue "sick time" whilst sick! Now get out there and fly your little hearts out!...Suckers!" Whom do you honestly imagine such behavior truly inspires?

I've never been a believer in asking or ordering others to do anything I won't do myself. It seems Mr. Hummel's mileage varies greatly there.

PS: "We want to know on who/whom the prank was pulled. who/whom. The prank was pulled on him. Therefore, whom is correct." ;)

No matter what your position “of honor” in this debate, I think we all see exactly where you stand intellectually. RR

HHHHAAAAAA!!!! Still blaming ALPA for all your troubles??!!! LOL!!!!

When will you idiots learn that it's YOURSELVES to blame?

I've never never encountered a group of people so in love with their own misery. You're all fked in the head.

See you in Court.

Great question!

10h. US Airways agrees that neither this Memorandum nor the JCBA shall provide a basis for
changing the seniority lists currently in effect at US Airways other than through the process set forth in
this Paragraph 10.

Here are a couple more-If there is still a problem with the MOU, why was US Airways released as a defendant? It is a party to the agreement. If it was released, why is it still a party?

I'm sure everything will be answered in the next few days. Yeah, that's it.

Silver will only muddy the waters further, as I am certain you alluded to in your final comment.

East pilots? What's that? Isn't there just one union owing a DFR to all?

And you wonder why it's so easy to kick your fake unions teeth in...morons.
