Yes I am with AA, and perhaps you are right. But I would guess that the other carriers are not suprised by this developement and are prepared to put the final nails in the coffin for US. Wn entering PIT is just the beginning.

Yada, yada,yada

Bob Owens is an AA mechanic based in New York who will be going through this too, which is probably why he wants to see US Airways "crash and burn", for the good of all airline employees. Pitiful.

Let's also recognize that the federal government is not going to be the one to pull the plug on US. Given their position as the senior secured creditor, they will get everything back they have LOANED US. The other creditors will be the ones who will pull the plug if US' financial situation deteriorates to the point that those creditors can make more money by pulling their assets out of US and place them someplace else.

Great news for US and those employees who want to see this company LIVE!! Let's go guys how about profitable second and third quarters?! It can be done!

Who are they, other than lessors and GE and BoA? And what un-guaranteed or unsecured loan balances do they have?

Sure instead of just working NEW YEARS day for free work everyday for free?

I can hear your CEO already. "WE CAN DO IT? Tough it out for the company hooorayyy!!! We can do it all for free, lets show everybody how tough we are LETS ALL WORK FOR FREE!! Your family doesnt have to eat!! If they do then go out and get a second job to do that(but dont let it interfere with your primary responsiblity to USAIR). Remember USAIR is not just a for profit corporation owned by people who could give a rats a$$ about any of the employees and would liquidate it in a hearbeat if they figured they could recover their investment ITS A CAUSE!!!!! Lets go out there and fight, fight, fight to make our shareholders rich, dont be selfish, after all they need the money more than YOU!"

Changing an original post, but maintaining the quotes is a really low class thing to do.

But then, you seem to subscribe to the current Administration's philosophy that anyone who disagrees with you must be a Communist or a traitor. "Rah Rah Sisboom bah, Yea Management!" chanted any number of times does NOT create a viable business plan.

(see Bob's message)

Actually I voted against the current administration.

Coming over here spewing your AA doom and gloom is a lot lower.

Do you really think AA management gives a rats patooty about you?! 😉

Well ain't this the "pot calling the kettle black"? This comes from the guy who has championed out-of-seniority furlough and out-sourcing of maintenance fuctions at US Airways to ensure his own job...

The ATSB arrangement is not a hand out. Last I checked, they are backer of loans. The only way it becomes a hand is if US fails. Maybe MiAAmi wants that to happen.

Whether it is or not, he also appears to be right.

I'm not sure what all this talk is about sub standard living wages. After the Fleet Service concession package passes tomorrow I will be making $17.00 an hour with 4 weeks vacation, medical and dental coverage with an average contribution, 5 paid Holidays and flying benefits. Not to mention the pension contribution.
Okay it's not as good as it used to be but heck it's much better than what is available in the marketplace now.
And to all you naysayers that say life is better without USAirways........go ahead and leave if it's better for you someplace else. I for one want to be here long enough to retire.
GO USAirways.......we can do it !!!!!!!!!!!

As much as I would never want to see anyone lose their job, yes I do want US to shut down. How can anyone outside of BK compete with a company that doesn't pay their bills. Do you really think its better for all of us ( the industry in general) to work for peanuts? Its not a question of how little you will work for but why. Believe it or not my heart does go out to you guys, best of luck to you whatever happens.
