Apfa Election

I woke up in the middle night to go to the bathroom and find JW won by 7 votes. But THB's slate won all the other positions. Bummer. Someone was kind enough to send me a personal e-mail about IO suggesting he is not worth responding to. The warmth conveyed in that note was very touching. I thank him/her from the bottom of my heart.

jw won by 7 votes.

There will be a recount of ballots at 9 am ct.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 Frigging unbelievable!!!

Just because jw don't want to see the recall rights extended for TW'ers, he comes out with the seniority thang!... knowing quite well it's out of his hands and ours and most of you fall for it..... Hotel, knowing you are one of his least supporters there is still hope with the recount, who knows what may happen, stranger things have happened and if not at least we know we tried and it was only by seven votes, not a great victory if you ask me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Leaving the vote results aside, I have never expirienced so much hatred and disdain, directly or indirectly towards me and my fellow coworkers, ever since day one :( but in all fairness, I must thank that minority who wish us nothing but the best,...... you know who you are. May God bless you and keep you. :)

All though it still too early to call a winner, the STL base can take pride in their turnout. Just goes to show that your vote does count.

Have any of you heard about the "fire drill?" It seems that late in the count the fire alarm suddenly went off. Everyone was told to vacate the hotel, then when they were allowed to return--I know you are going to be shocked, but it was false alarm--the ballots from two of the bases--LGA and MIA, I think--had "somehow gotten mixed together" and had to be separated and recounted. The results were different on the second count.

I am particularly concerned about the security of the STL ballots. Since the vote was so overwhelmingly pro-THB, in the event of a "fire drill", the STL ballots would be an obvious target for a "grab and discard" operation.

Is this the future you want for APFA? Every single time we vote, there is some "OSO" event--fire drills, extending a vote after the votes have been counted and the result was not what the president wanted, BOD taking away the membership's right to vote on an issue. Do any of you honestly believe that the membership will ever learn to trust each other or the union's management if this kind of crap just continues to happen every time that JW doesn't get his way?

I was in the room at the time a fire alarm went off. Members of the National Ballot Committee and the Designated Observers were in the room the entire time. Someone went to the front desk to see if the fire alarm was legit or not and we were told it was not.

The room was never unattended

lol, that was funny. I figure that there will be conspiracy theories with the lawsuit results also...lol
lets say everyone should accept the results and move on with this result (when its final) also.

sooooo, if during the recount it is found that THB won by 7 would it be a great victory then?
Yeah, I know. ;)

Fact: Witley Penn election certifier Felix Lozano had all the ballots bundled by base and boxed up, then had each candidate sign over the seal and taped up. No ballots could have been found since they are still locked in Felix's office in Ft. Worth.

The manual recount will resume at 130pm today at Radisson DFW

Here are a couple of things that stick out to me:

...........Ttl Ballots Mailed.......Ttl Ballots Counted.........Pct voting
ORD..........2284...........................1231......................
.53.9%
STL...........2931...........................2148.....................
..73.3%

Also, 10 STL votes not mailed in the 'secret envelope'. I wonder who those votes we're for???

I'm not a F/A, but anyone working for AA knows how important this election is......well, except maybe for the 46% at ORD that didn't bother to vote.

Unbelieveable.

According to reasonably reliable sources, 30 some additional ballots have been found. However, if they are split 50/50 the vote will remain unchanged. What is reported above, the comparison between ORD and STL was similar in the last election too I believe.
