Supposed to say "ANY NEWS...." at the title

HP did not allow it.
when they merged with US
US did away with allowing it

AA allows AVIHs (for now)

What's the likely surviving policy?

Is the grand plan of US+AA to be a full service carrier or a LCC?

DP clearly wanted to transform legacy US into a LCC, and AVIH didn't fit that model.

US, WN, WS, B6, and NK don't carry pets as hold baggage. US is the only one of those which has a two-cabin product...

Doesn't US still allow AVIH on the Northeast Shuttle? That is/was the exception due to competitive (comPETitive) reasons with DL. Of course, no one outside of BOS/LGA/DCA knew about it.

I would expect AA's policies to survive. Yes, there would be training costs involved, but I think that the old HP policy means out on revenue. Many people have pets that do not fit in cabin crates and the do travel.
UMNR policy will be interesting as well.
