Not that I think there is any credibility to any of this, but as far as I know, UA has 150 A319/320 aircraft, which is the amount of Boeing aircraft U has. The U and UA Airbus fleet together makes about... 280 aircraft. Again, I dont see any of that happening, but interesting nonetheless.
UA has not announced thier post bankrupcy fleet plans yet, but so far it doesnt look like they are following the shrink and run business plan currently being suffered by our beloved blue shamu. They seem to plan on still being a major airline, with much of its fleet and route structure in tact, as opposed to parking half of the fleet, downsizing to a shell company, outsourcing flying to the largest number of regional partners in the world, and squandering market share.
