704 ran out of time on 12/12/03, not sure if it has been ferried to GYR yet for storage, not sure of the dropdead date for 705, I know 706, 707 and 101 have been released from the lessor as have all the nine Airbii, 706 dies in January.

707 and 101 are still struggling with return to service checks in PIT....they have in fact become "rob-bait" for the stupidity and oversights involving 719's conversion to OEW standards.

The lack of on hand Airbus parts...and the failure of management to grant OT to allow in-house work on the ACARS units have also delayed things.

Example...The ACARS unit was robbed from 101 to get 719 going...someone forgot this need in the planning phase....and of course we had ZIPPO on the shelves.

653 (B767) in CLT Heavy was robbed of its ACARS Unit to get 101 in the works....and it goes on and on and on.

We have ACARS Units sitting in PIT with cancelled Work Orders..and we have 2 sitting in CLT needing to be addressed....yet instead of authorizing a little OT over the weekend...We rob planes and move weight and cube between cities....The parts will still have to be replaced when robbed. Can you say duplicaton of effort?

By the way...it was going to be a scenario of robbing Acft in GYR over the weekend...then paying a bonded courior service to move it from GYR to PIT....this was killed when it was disclosed that GYR had nobody on property that was authorized for the part removal...or had the legal ability to generate an FAA 8130 "Serviceable Tag"....Logic didn't save us money here....circumstance did !!!

And the one of the things the company has forgotten is that the airplanes are owned by US Airways and if they rob a part or do any work on those planes it is suppose to be done by a US Airways Mechanic, if not, they will have a grievance slapped on them because it is IAM covered work.

Do not be surprised if the Transformation Plan adds narrowbody Airbus aircraft to the fleet, above the 279 floor.

Guess where they could come from?

Regards,

Chip

Mr Munn,

The horse is dead, stop beating it, we are tired and don't want to hear about US getting RSA EETC backed old grungy not cost effective airplanes from UAL.

Look in the mirror and say, I won't post about the UCT/ICT that I have been preaching for a year now.

....I'll tell you up front Chip....If they ain't coming from Hamburg Germany with CFM-56's dangling from thier pylons.....this will prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that this company is clueless and done for !!

To even suggest an aquisition of UA-knows who's narrow-bodies is stupid..this ranks right up there with the rumor of taking on their worn out JT9 equipped B767-222's

If any of this happens?.....folks have your ducks in order...We will bleed to death in very short order.

I think 60 refers to the amount of Airbi Chip believe is coming from UAL, perhaps U gets Ted! Hmmm, U 'n Ted

Or perhaps he turned 60.

*sigh* Here we go again with US taking UA assets. I'll believe it when I see it happen. Until then, I'd say it's highly unlikely.

Lets hope he's not 60...that would mean FAA mandatory retirement for our illustrious left seater....and that would make for even more free time to post non-sense. :p :D

I think maybe a switch from Iron City Lite is in order Chip....rumor has it , that the Mercury levels in the brewmasters water exceed potable levels.
