The whole IAM situation sickens me, but I know there can be a reasonable settlement on the A320 outsourcing and the "Transformation Plan", if the IAM would go to the table and listen.
Then the Negotiating Committee should strike the best deal they can and let the membership decide.
If this does not occur, management will attack any labor group who refuses to discuss the new business plan. Why? They have no choice.
Do I like it? Heck no, in fact it sucks, but it's the cold, hard reality of the industry and our company.
David Bronner told ALPA members in his open meeting that no one union will put this company out of business and the plan will go forward "with or without employees".
I do not want to see anybody get hurt, but 90%, 82%, 75% or whatever the number is is better than nothing and possibly a bridge for another job, if necessary.
