Now our two or three resident analyst can chime in.

Did you notice how DL, WN, and US also hit new 52W lows?...

Yea go figure....DL and US shed thousands of employees after filing bankruptcy because their labor costs also were too high.. WN never had overhaul and alot less mechanics than AA...and look.....their stocks are lower too....Go figure...

No, but I noticed it said analyst are gloomier on AMR and they were the only ones that were going to lose a tremendous
amount of money, again. I do believe E that the point of the article was the analyst are not sold on AA's recent moves
and are getting more frustrated as each day passes. I could be reaching for straws here though.

Mr. E:

Yep, noticed the general slide of all airline shares. Some would say a couple of them deserved to drop and others appear to be a "sins of the father" type of thing - no good reason, just GP.

With the one analyst commenting about AMR's airplane deal being a poor use of capital, all are in their respective doghouses.

After a while, it becomes apparent that these predictions are nothing more than manipulation stories.

I mean everytime AMR is investing heavily in capital the gloom and doom stories appear within days.

After 28 year of watching the manipulation, I am no longer fearing or taking the bait so to speak.

Get on with running the airline, get on with the contract negotiations, and despense with the media manipulation.

All that happens now is inflammation of already bad relations. Nobody is buying this crap anymore!
If you cannot run the airline without using the media manipulation to hide and lie about your true intentions and industry status, then pack your #### and leave.

Agreed, the corporate media making news to suit their objectives.

Bob, where do we buy the foil hats? We need to order more!

The investors want short term gains at labor's expense. That's how Wall Street works, don't you remember when you took on the Wall Street analysts only a few short months ago? You battled wits with them and took them to task arguing labor's cause for us.

So let me get this straight, Wall Street is against us, the media is against us, the NMB is against us, our own Int'l is against us, the AFL-CIO is against us, etc...

And Good Time Bob says I need to take my meds? Uh yeah. If everybody is against us how are we to take them all on and win? Or will you lead us in airline labor's last act of defiance in an epic battle between Bob's army of angry TWU haters and the Corporate Scoundrels. Bravo Don Quixote! Keep jousting with those windmills!

I will stay out of this dispute other than to say, DAMN, if you think anything and everything reported in the media negatively about AMR is media propaganda or AMR's own negative releases, then DAMN, maybe you guy are a little over the top. And this is coming from someone who has spent close to twenty-nine years on the ramp. All AA! I realize AA is less than honest on many occasions, and I know you guys are pushing to replace the TWU really hard as well, have no problem with that. But DAMN.....

You forgot about the crooked judges/courts. Might as well blame Canada, too.

Have you ever suffered a choking episode while hobbing the company knob?

Better yet, how long has it been since you worked on an aircraft or aircraft component? Or have you ever worked on one period?

One does not need a tin foil hat to see that "strong" negative outlook media reports always come out shortly after ever "good news" announcement. That is just fact, not conspiracy.

Since I have been a CC it has been a while that I have been hands on except when I work OT. Thinking of getting out of the terminal and bidding one of the cushy CFP crews for a while. I started out working general aviation and got in to the airlines in the early 80s. I've done my share 747 ADP changes, DC10 number 2 engine changes, fishing for brown trout on the gate while the agent is asking how much longer, gear changes, worked JT8D-7 thru -15 overhaul, CF6-6 and -50 overhaul, worked avionics for a while and I still have my LAMM books.

Maybe that's because the real propaganda was the aircraft order conveniently timed to mask the poor earnings report.

I have to admit, it was a lot better than announcing new service to Helsinki, but in a quarter where everyone else is posting a profit, no amount of perfume is going to cover up the smell of a $286M turd.

Labor Costs are always an easy target. It's a lot easier to lay off personnel who handle bags, fix planes and make eye contact with passengers than balancing books in face of rising fuel costs. Will AMR lay off their attorneys or cut their pay? Of course not. Blaming labor is somewhat like blaming the refinery that supplies fuel for the aircraft.

What we need is corporate and political leadership that understands how to balance books while running a profitable enterprise. Too bad we can't lay off the AMR leadership. Nope, another bonus for failure is all they worry about.

We need to re-examine the court option if NMB rejects another call for release. Sue the NMB and Labor Department? Yes.

Tried before? No. That's no excuse.

So you have worked quite a few places, even TULE?
