I asked this in the wrong thread. so I'll ask again here, could someone explain what it means that there will be a post merger US Airways Inc with Robert Isom as CEO. Is that just a formality until single certificate, or is that an indication that the current US Airways will be come a wholly-owned subsidiary of this new American Airlines?

I assume that US Airways must remain a legal enity maybe for a good while after the merger for accounting and legal issues. US is a straight operational merger with AA as far as people, planes and routes go, it will not be a seperate operaton. I do think the name could be retained for future use as an express carrier similar to Piedmont.
So yes it is just a transitional title, IMHO.

Sounds logical to me. Thanks!
