AMFA Mechanics contract.08/ 2012

That's a very good point, what are we asking for? Or has AMFA even made any sort of counter offer as of yet? I would assume they haven't countered yet because it's just to soon...
Our AMFA reps are giving the company time to present us with their proposal.

We have not presented any opener to them yet.

Contract negotiation updates are available on the AMFA11.COM website bulletin board.
As well as on other AMFA Locals sites. (18 and 32)

The local 11 website is open for anyone to see.
I have found a lot of union sites need a logon and password. We do not.

October 10th&11th or 11th&12th I forget but it's on the website

If the company takes the 4th line away without us negotiating it away, or fails to start in the agreed time frame, does that mean the AT/SWA integration agreement is void and need to be re-addressed?

POBIT-- I'd say yes to that as part of the agreement was not complied with. But unfortunately the company won't see it that way. But hopefully the former AT mechanics will see how the company holds true to there word and not to trust upper management.

The 4th line Arbatration I think is October 4th or 5th. So if we win in Arbatration the company will be giving the moon to get us to negotiate it away. The problem is what they offer and what they are willing to give are far apart because they know mechanics will take a lessor amount if much at all. So even tho I'm an absolute NO vote on taking the 4th line away there better not be less than $120K base pay and bonus of less than $100K after taxes with retro ontop of that. To me that's the moon! If I see less than that on a voting ballot I say we drop AMFA and join the pilots union. Together with the pilots we would be a power house! Leave the trainers, Tech forman's, cleaners and MX control with AMFA! SWAPA would just be Pilots and Mechanics.

The company said at the last session that if we didn't like their offer then they would still start the 4th line as agreed.
But they could always change their minds.

Don't be surprised when SWAPA tells you to pack sand. They don't want to dilute their class and craft with a bunch of M&R miscreants that can't decide on a union. Don't fear, I'm sure that the reamsters will take you back... :p

Lay off the crack pipe for a while.

Why don't we just join the brain surgeons union.

Many of SWA pilots have been talked to about this already and they want us. At least the individual pilots that have been talked to. F&ck the Teamsters as they have screwed us over already.

So how come the pilots and FA got to vote on international routes and the -800s? Dont they get extra pay for working basically the same AC, when the mechs are just expected to get ETOPS certified for nothing? Wont the mechs have to go downline for the international trips sometime or another? Did we get to vote on it? Seems kind of messed up to me. Sure hope we are asking for something for this added responsibility.
