"Talk around the shop by the AMFA Scabs is that the AMFA Boys are stealing jobs from the Mechanics at Spirit. (Are Spirit Mechanics union?)"
...........................................................

PTO you implied they were SCABS! You don't even know if they are union and shoot your mouth off about jobs being stolen. Why not educate yourself before going off half cocked. My reading comprehension is fine, its your twisting of words that seems to be the problem.

So taking a picture of a group of former NWA mechanics which is more appropriate than taking a picture with a bunch of other Spirit mechanics makes them "cliquish?"
I did consider it but I did not care to pull 18 or 19 hour days. Does the picture alone make them cliquish? No it does not but add it to the other reports then another story unfolds.

should read "no it does not but add it to the other PTO assumptions and the Tall Tale unfolds"..

Come now PTO 18 or 19 hour days, is'nt that a stretch? or is that in Doggie hours.. :p

I did not imply that they were Scabs.

AMFA Scabs: Union members of AMFA that crossed the picket line at NWA while AMFA is on strike.

AMFA Boys: Union members of AMFA that are still on strike against NWA and supporting the strike effort. Not to be confused with cleaners and custodians.

The AMFA Boys are stealing the Spirit Mechanics jobs as the direct employees are being laid-off as Spirit learns how much easier and cheaper it is to have contract workers. I asked if they were union because I would think that their union would be doing something about it. So now we here that there might be a card drive to bring a union in? What a great time to get rid of your direct employees if the company thinks the drive will be successful. It's a good move for the company, get rid of the union before it can even get in the door. The more we learn of this the more they earn that image though. Wouldn’t you agree? I guess the topic tile should have read more along the lines of…

AMFA Boys assist Spirit in slamming the door in the face of a union labor movement.

I just love the “SOLIDARITYâ€￾ of unionism.

These guys are working for the same contract companies you guys despise so

Don't really despise them, just don't like what they are doing to what was once a good profession. Traveling around the country going from contract to contract, living out of a suitcase, sub standard wages.....well I can go on and on. To each their own I guess.

You just do not get it

 Your pretty funny local.

Come now PTO 18 or 19 hour days, is'nt that a stretch? or is that in Doggie hours.. :p
8.5 hrs at NWA
8.5 hrs at Spirit
1.0 hrs bus tansportation
0.7 hrs drive time

18.7 hrs if everything goes the way it is supposed to. I looked at it considered it and said forget it. There are some guys doing just that. I did not care to put myself through that.

Here we go again, you have a way with back peddling thats for sure. If they had a union nitwit the language would prevent a direct employee from being laid of while hiring contractors, its called a contract.

If in fact Spirit is commiting this act of trying to achieve cheaper labor by replacing Spirit mechanics with contractors as you assume, Then its Spirit mechanics who failed to get a UNION and this is another shining example for the support of UNIONS to wage war with Big Buisness.

Perhaps your job at NWA will also be contracted out since you are an at will employee without a contract.

as you said in a previous post...

"should we simply chalk this up to the woes of a free market and economics?"

 No back peddling here local. What if they had the IAM as a union, do you really think that they would have done anything about it?

I couldn't be so lucky. I don't think you fully understand the benefits of contracting.

Give that man a round of applause! I think he is beginning to understand.

So let me get this right, you would count it as a blessing if your job at NWA were contracted out to the lowest bidder, yet you remain?...  Priceless!

Oh I understand alright, I was just parroting your post.

Hey just roll over and take whatever scraps you can get, when/if W gets his way perhaps you can undercut the migrant workers wages too..

Dont know, but this much I do. Big Buisness/Government is attacking the middle class on all fronts. we stand together and fight or fall one by one.

I am saying I would rather work for NWA as a contractor rather than a direct. You simply do not understand how a contors pay works nor do you understand the freedoms that a contractors have.

I agree and only a unionized America is going to stop it. The problem is there is no such thing. This strike at NWA has proven that.

I'll try again; if you preferred to stay as a contractor, why'd you go direct?
I weighed a bunch of pros and cons and was split down the middle about heading south or going direct. I was down to flipping a coin then Hackman tipped the scale for me.

P.S. Who is that in your avatar?
I don't know. My daughter e-mailed it to me tonight and said my friend would be delighted. I'm not sure what she meant. ;)

so hackman is the responsible party for you deciding to spend countless hours away from your family, making a few extra coins?

wow your family must admire such a man of courage!
