What's new

American Airlines rebranding ‘very soon’

The tail is butt ugly. I love the flag when it's on a flagpole, or shown in its entirety like what Union Pacific has done on the side of their locomotives. This is far too busy.

Perhaps like BA did when they retired the Union Jack the first time, there will be a change of heart on the what happens with the tail.

The logo? Shades of Texas as well as the eagle. Subtle. Too much like Greyhound, but I can live with it.

I don't expect AA to be repainting airplanes anytime soon. Just the new arrivals as they show up from Airbus. They've already said it would take five years to rebrand, but to what extent that will be isn't quite clear yet, i.e. perhaps the MD80's, 738's etc. might stay bare metal with the new logo and tail...

YUCK!!!!!!!!!

The pilots at American Airlines offered their initial responses to American’s new look Thursday, and pointed out that what American really needs is a merger.

From the Allied Pilots Association, per spokesman Dennis Tajer

“A new paint job is fine but it does not fix American’s network deficiencies and toxic culture, so we continue our steadfast support of a merger with US Airways and not doubling down on the network strategy that brought us into bankruptcy.
“American’s network needs more than cosmetic changes to compete with Delta and United, simply put, it needs to merge with US Airways now.”

Hmmmm read between the lines and it looks like the pilots know the merger isn't happening.

That's just what I was thinking, it looks like the Greyhound logo...
Hey, your merging with us and America West management has turned us into Greyhound, get use to it. your going to miss how nice Horton has been to all of you, just wait.

Response from the pilots union leadership. Any pilot at AA know the details? I think not. So the correct comment should be the American Airlines pilots union leadership not the pilots of American Airlines.

This new paint scheme is only temporary. American airlines will soon unveil their true colors. Jim Little and CEO Tom holding hands and walking together into a beautiful sunset. Brings a joyous tear to my eyes.

Kind Regards,
Harvey West

Thanks, but I'm not with AA....

How many consumers choose a product because of it's "branding"?
I doubt FF'ers will jump on any airline because the paint job it pretty.

Ma and Pa kettle could care much less.
Besides, sitting at the gate, all we see is the nose.

Corporate just pissing away more money.

JMHO&PO

I think it looks ok, could be alot worse, look at what United got! Overall looks nice.

Should have let the mechanics paint the new Salvador Dali logo. Twelve inch rollers, twelve packs of beer and some medical Maui Waui.
