American Airlines rebranding ‘very soon’

The double AA eagle logo is gone so it will be replaced with what?
Keeping with the bus theme....This might work for Eagle

Now they say we are all getting new uniforms to be unveiled next week. Even the pilots. They always seem to slide by when the uniforms are updated. Apparently, not this time. If the rumors for the F/A uniforms are correct, we are going to look terrible. It will just be another ridiculous decision like this hideous livery. AA is still falling with no end in sight. Sad, very sad!

I hope your uniforms are not as fugly as that paint scheme

I'm not a fan of the new American or the new American Airlines paint... I look at that paint design and what I see is an airline that lost it's will.. The symbol of American Airlines has always been the Eagle proudly looking over the fuselage spreading it's wings on that jet.. Realizing that the #1 asset is it's people.. Now all I see is the disappearing silhouette of a beak... I depart American tomorrow..30 years... Godspeed on your future gents.. I'll remember it as my past..

I really wanted to like it, but its not remotely innovative or timeless like the Silver birds were.

CBS is reporting paint scheme was done in a secret air force facility in California. To paint the 37's it cost $80 grand and $250 grand for 777's. It's only money..right?

like it or not, if it helps AA turn itself around, it might prove to be money well spent.

If AA turns itself around and the new identity can be shown to have had nothing to do w/ it, then you can say it was a waste of money.

AA's livery was classic and was so well-liked because it hadn't been messed with, but AA won't sink or swim based on the livery.

Given that there were no credible fotos of the livery prior to rollout, AA mgmt was effective in keeping it secret... and future paint jobs won't cost as much just on that basis.
And alot of the paint jobs will come as aircraft are delivered. Many existing AA aircraft will never see the new livery.

Check out AA's FB page. Look at the public's response. New logo isn't changing their opinion of this airline. So IMO it's a waste of time and $.

The huge oxy-moron:

It was kept secret

Or

We included employees and customers in the decision

Both does not seem possible.
There is a big lie somewhere.

The paint was done at VCV (Victorville California)... The -800 was supposed to be in DFW at 2 in the morning but didn't depart VCV till after 4.. The aircraft had dead batteries when pulled out and LA flew a pair up to VCV to save the day.. Landed at DFW I think around 7-8..
