Your stating that you don’t understand this rumor?? Ok, look your free to believe who you want, that’s fine with me. But it does take some people longer than others to realize who is blowing smoke up their ass.

I have said in my briefings that we are at a point in negotiations that things could get done the next time we meet. But we are also on the major issues ( scope & insurance) where it could take another year. Thats frustrating to hear I know, but thats just how big these issues are.

As I Have said in the past, our first goal is to protect everything we are doing today. The company as of last week has Never, and I mean Never offered us in a written proposal what we are performing today in our 40 stations. If they had done that, then that would have been something we would have had to seriously consider for our scope.
Again, believe whoever you want. Some of us IAM and TWU care to brief and explain what is going on after each meeting. You can believe those post, or believe the rumors. I do realize some would rather go with the rumors. Our info can be rather boring sometimes compared to the rumors.
Fighting to keep what we already have in this environment of profit is @@## up

As for your question on why all the traveling? GVP is correct. Once the nmb takes over, the mediators again determine where and when we meet. They will sometimes if things aren’t progressing use this one tactic to make the company and union jump all over the country.
They also have the ability to say we will go till midnight every night, or so many days in a row. These are some of the things they will use to try to get the two sides to move on their positions.
Thank you now i got it

they cant afford that chiat contract. what a farce

that contract sets them back 7 more years. only 20% make it to top out. No reason to be union with that mess.

With those wages would you or I call it a career job, absolutely not. But don’t try to tell me when you hired on at Piedmont that you’d have stuck yourself on the wall like velcro for 30 odd years either.

There’s no way in Gods green Earth that Piedmont was going to make you a Millionaire or even a guy who could afford his own Laundry Basket.

But here you are still also ain’t ya.

we had everything at piedmont. Higher wages, best benefits, etc.

Do you have any old paystubs to prove just how handsomely you were being compensated compared to other Airlines?

I mean you certainly got screwed big time at USAIR. They dumped your Pension 27 years ago now.

You have a tendency of repeating the term “value proposition” when it comes to Union Representation. I would really love to be able to understand what value it is you’re looking for or what value I seem to be lacking?

Oh and Kevin can you tell me if you have this value proposition over at Delta Airlines?

Then why did all of us at Piedmont get nice raises merger date?

US made more than PI.
Peidmont was a national airline. Just like Midway was, after they folded , I got on with Morris Air, bought by SWA, no seniority unlike you Peidmont Guys. The AirTran guys got a huge pay raise, even though they lost 4 years seniority in the integration agreement. I would have to say you Peidmont guys didn't do to bad.

because we voted the iam in 1994. We were making $17.88. 6 months later the iam negotiated a ta to cut us 8% down to $16 something but only if the other TAs passed. The stews voted it down so our concessions were scrapped. Then 5 years later we got our 1999 agreement that caught us up to Delta after 5 years on no increases, but only after voting out another concessionary pact in 1998.
In 1999 we went up to $20.08. Just over a .30 per year raise (geez, thanks alot) cuz we couldnt get raises from 1994. But we gave up 85 stations and all cargo to get our scam contract. Went from 8500 workers to 4500 in 90 days after our contract.

mus and morris air were hosed with seniority. When i organized all airtran passenger service and ramp, the twu wanted 7-1 but due to the mba it went to arbitration. Passenger service was equal seniority since same union.

al, why don't you take a pin? you know, become a crew chief.

lus/iam when integrated, won't have lead if i bid the lead job ill be bidding with 40 years

lus/iam when integrated, won't have lead seniority, but occupational date seniority, ala twu?
If i took lead now i would bid with 40 years seniority.

I doubt that will happen myself but personally I’d dance in the streets if I could bid by the time I became a CC
You would have nothing but new hires bidding the lead job and they are a bunch of beauts

What are you talking about?

Piedmont and USAir merged 8/5/89, we all on the Piedmont side got nice raises. If you were topped out full time for PI at merger date you got at $600 a month raise.

Now follow along. 1989, not 1994 or 1998.
