Do you actually think something better is coming our way
 
I was told that load mouth from NYC TWU subway division was at our last meeting with the company. I for one think he is ignorant. He does not speak for me or others. The Association should be embarrassed to have that individual in or near our negotiations.

He's a thug. No class and uneducated. He has no business representing anyone at American airlines. He belongs in the subways of NYC. Unfortunately he is here as our International President.
 
i actually expect to read what is put out, unlike timmy that tries to sll something he actually has not read.
My opinion here is all of a sudden a JCBA will be out and we have to vote quickly. Guys as usual will read the highlights and vote on that. No time for explaining the deal to members because the association has to cover a dozen groups with different language for each group. It will be a monumental task so the short version will be we the association feel this is a good deal but not exactly what we wanted to achieve for our members. We feel that if we continued on the issues that were not moving in either direction an arbitrator would have ruled against us. And so on and so on and so on. So vote YES and let us the International officers of the association get back to the bar and party. I think you get the point I'm merely expressing as my opinion.
In the meantime no information flowing except from the usual theorists.
 
AMTS on fb admitted they were told not to work overtime and if they did they would be looked at as scabs so......

the company and/or union should have investigated allegations...only if these AMTs went to either entity to complain.

otherwise, who cares what facebook or twitter has to say about anything? doesn't prove anything to me.

'news' media with agendas use these useless social media outlets as proof to buttress an argument...for touchy social or economic issues.

a few hundred years ago the courts established what 'hearsay' was/is. what is social media??

This what happens when the membership does not get detailed updates, rumors fly.
We had it too in the very beginning of our mediations. AMFA filed a request with the NMB to be able to give the membership "something" as the co. was using the gag order as propaganda to stir the pot with the members against the nego cmte. (sound familiar) So the NMB came up with some rule structure that all written updates would have to be approved by them (NMB) before releasing and that AMFA could give very detailed updates verbally at the monthly meetings. That work out very well as all the misinformation and rumors were all stopped as well as the co's propaganda machine was shut down. It's also when we all saw the unity get much, much stronger within the membership as well as, within all other unions on the property and when we got all the support from all other unions that backed us, first Pilots, then F/A's, Ramp, stores, agents and F/M. Now ya know why these co's always ask for the gag orders, they want the membership pissed off at the nego cmte and the division. Works better in the co's favor.
In this case it plays well for the twu. They have never gave much info to start with .
 
3q19 earnings tomorrow morning.

consensus is $12 billion in revenues, company says pre-tax margins of 6.5%-7.5%. if we go with 7%..

this takes us to $840 million for the quarter. i expect a beat...lower jet fuel costs & higher fares. company has already said the 737max groundings will cost the company $140 million in pre-tax profits for q3.

all things being equal..quarter should have been a $1+ billion quarter, just like ua and dl.

as parker has said, the company will never lose money again, but will haggle for 3 years over 1 additional week vc for many of it's team members.
 
I don’t expect any info on an agreement for at least two more weeks if at all if things continue as they have over this past year

Is a 100$ million contempt fine going to be proof enough for you
 
you would think that with profits coming out tomorrow, there would be like a deadline to announce some good news. maybe a little urgency to get this done. just a thought.

You know the one on Jetnet. You think that the guys in the Association that you bad mouth are going to get you something better?
Correct me if I"m wrong
1. You badmouth the association and despise its leadership.
2. You want to vote the association out
3. You think the association can get you a better contract than the one that was on jetnet
4. You want to vote no and hope the jetnet proposal gets turned down if presented.
5. You think your group will do better by further delay.

If I am wrong about any of this, then please let me know. But if you really think that the Association is going to get you something better than the Jetnet proposal and it will do so by further delaying, then isn't that the very path that the Association proclaims? Then what is your fuss?
