My personal opinion is medical will be lost, has been for a long time actually the sweetener will be keeping it one more year .just my opinion no inside info.

You'll probably keep it another 5 years they way this is going.

I expect nothing new or worth getting excited about. I'm willing to guess and say both sides are far apart on outsourcing and work rules. It's not about the money anymore. The IAM wants to keep their pension and cheap medical. The TWU wants to keep the head count up and not budge on work rule changes. Then comes the fine from the courts. Have no idea how the company is going to use that against the association to get what they want. It will drag on past the first snow fall of the winter season.

No. Been very busy this week. But thanks for your concern. And yes there is a convention next week, but that doesn’t mean there wouldn’t be negotiations if the nmb schedules them.
Again, the nmb decides when negotiations will take place. Both the company and union must comply.

But really, this guy has been getting back ground checks for airport IDs since at least 1988, are you all saying that his alleged ties to terrorist organizations went completely unfound by the government organizations that do the checks?

I just have a difficult time seeing that. Again, not that I condone or make light of his actions in any way. Just trying to point something out.

Not sure if the gov. failed to see this, or if AA or ALK failed to see this, or who failed to see it at this time. Too early to tell at this point. Not even sure if ties to terrorist organizations are even a factor in a background check. I would hope that now days it would be. However, when I was hired it was understood the background check pretty much looked at 5 years of driving records and 10 years of criminal records. After 9-11, we all got the lifetime background check as you all know. Still not sure if even those were detailed enough to look at interest from other countries including terrorist areas and their connections.
I would love to interview the gov about how, and how "deep" these background checks go. Know what I mean???
