Just announced talks to resume at NMB headquarters in DC.
Sept 16th through the 19th
Guess we will see how serious both sides are.
If it goes how we have seen in the past I’m not optimistic
If these talks fail this time we are done for a min of 1 year or more so hold on ladies and gentlemen this could be a bumpy ride

So the fix is in.
What Sito and alex are not telling you is the meeting they had with AA.
The union was told if we do not get a deal from you it will cost you the ASSociation over 145 million in damages, let us know.
And you see the letter out today case closed.
Contract will be agreed in principal during the next session and we will vote on it within a couple of months.

that was funny
OK dumb-ass.

Which part was funny?

Do tell.

Let's all see an example of what Tim finds humorous.

I am sure I just don't get it because I can't match Tim's intellect (who could?) and the humor just went right over my head.

So go on then fool, show us what part of my post was so funny.

Dude, theres a bunch of us out there limping around and hunched over...
I can't speak for maintenance of course but I remember that a very high percentage of middle age and older career Fleet Service Clerks in my shop all had major surgeries due to wear and tear on their bodies from loading bags.

Every one of them (that is one's that had surgeries) had one of the following surgeries knee, shoulder, back, hip, and bags are only getting heavier.

to incentivize FT, the union (at local levels) should work the bids where the majority of PT shifts are PM, on the ramp/gates and with weekdays off.

from the company's perspective...where the company is screaming bloody murder about medical costs, why have so many 4 hr PT shifts that are basically worthless, but still having to pay full health benefits??

all in all, compare to delta. delta doesn't treat all it's employees as equally as aa, yet overall financially, delta treats it's employees better?? where's the disconnect?

delta incentivizes working as delta, not ready reserve.

the CS policy is also ridiculous. maybe with a contract, the CS system won't be gamed as often. of course, management and C/Cs in manning positions can be and have been corrupted by the scammer FSCs. contract/no contract, privilege or contractual right, the CS nonsense will continue.

the delta ready reserve worker can't wait to be regular delta and collect $14k profit sharing checks. his incentive is attendence and working hard. the aa 4 hr PTer can't wait to CS off their shift to a FT scammer, scamming 12-16 hours a day. that is the operational difference between delta and aa.
In my shop management controlled the bid. The UNION may have ran the bid as far as running through the seniority list but they did not set the hours. Maybe where you work it is different.

As far as part time employees having medical benefits, like I said, it's a good deal for anyone working part time.

I thought the whole idea behind a UNION was for everyone to be treated equally. Of course you know and I know that is a ridiculous ideal because not everyone contributes equally, which of course is the problem with socialism. A UNION by it's very nature has socialist/communist leanings Crema, you can't have it both ways.

There is nothing wrong with the CS policy. First of all some people NEED it because they commute. We had several people that commuted at TULE, mostly legacy TWA people but some legacy AA people as well. If not for the CS policy those commuters would have had very little family time. If someone really doesn't want to be on the clock do you REALLY want them there? I can't see how anything that lets you exercise control over your hours as a bad thing.

I can tell you how we fixed the gaming problem. Anyone that CS'd went right to the bottom of the seniority list. So a CS person could not come in and drive the bus over someone who was actually working their shift, they had to go work the docks. Of course crew chiefs exempted themselves from that rule. They were too busy sitting in the office soaking up air conditioning and not doing their jobs. In your case, I assume you work the line, that means they would go right in the belly loading bags regardless of seniority, not doing lavs.

They'll get a deal, maybe not one those 3 days, but they'll get a deal.

They have the injunction, the contempt hearing and other airlines are getting significantly higher wages than most Title groups.

There's a deal coming out of that.

i would like to believe so, unfortunately i have absolutely no faith in the company the iam the twu or the association. i expect more of the same bullshit we have seen all along. i wish we would collectively wake up and smell the coffee.

It must be the financial pressure coming from wall street and the shareholders about the value of the stock. Lately AA has been hammered in the press about performance and the bad customer service. I guess outsiders can see that it's not the alleged job action causing all the issues they claim.

One would hope someone in the upper management see that.
Because at some point they will see an erosion in profits and that will hit them where it hurts
