Aircraft maint issues

I disagree with you and OLD GUY. At that level I think you need someone that can handle people.
Not agreeing with Parker but he has said he wants leaders, he wants to change the management culture. Maybe this guys can lead give him a chance, stop thinking like everything can be fixed like an airplane. People are not airplanes. (my 2 cents)
Just so happens I got a visit from a guy today that met this dude and he said he had a good feeling about him. Maybe he is being brought in as a fixer. Lord knows there is a lot of fixing to do. Easton ran the place like a prison.

Hey Conehead, have you seen our last update? Our next nego's session is set for late June now. AMFA asked for another date early in June but the company refused. Stall, stall, stall the co's moto.

Classic example- Tuesday I was informed I needed to visit the sick nazi's
office, I sat in the reseptsionists area for 25 minutes only to be told I have been late 3 times in the last eleven months for a grand total of 6 minutes
for all 3 accurences. She informed me the next acurrance will trigger an F29 meeting and that I should think about using an hour of vacation. I told
her that will not happen because the next time highway 169 backs up at 2:30 in the afternoon it will surely trigger a migraine that normally lasts 3 days for me. What could she say my sick bank has been maxed out for years.

Sounds like a lot of TUL's issues have been leadership especially in the mid level manager area (isn't that always the case). This guys background both Airline and Miltiary might actually be a very good fit to fix the that. BTW most all the managment in Tech Ops has worked their ways up through the ranks from the maintainence or engineering side and you guys always hate them....so lets wait and see.

The management who came from maintenance are gone. We have a bunch of people who were not mechanics ever in management all over the place. My manager is a former Marine officer. I think he worked in supply or something but never had any maintenance background. Lots of supervisors are former planners and they hired a bunch off the street straight out of college and brought them in as management too. Easton was a former mechanic and yes we hate him but there aren't many former mechanics left in management at AA.

Just another example of the prison like atmosphere. This is a Mark Easton policy. A few months ago there was an accident on 169 at the bridge construction in Owasso and lots of people were late. Management got a free pass, stores got to stay and make up their time and mechanics got docked pay with no option to make up their time. Mark Easton mandated the docking of pay but the stores management ignored it and took care of their people. Maintenance management of course were more than happy to stick it to people. Luckily the accident happened after I had gone through the construction zone.

Not all of us

Not all of us have the luxury of leisurely pulling up to the workplace and punching in with 5 minutes left till your starting time. Try leaving the house 1/2, 3/4 hour just in case traffic is uncooperative. No brained dude.

Right now I have to leave at least 1:45 before my shift for a normally a 20 minute ride. Come to LGA Old guy you'll jump off the Chrysler building. Last night punched out at 2030 got to lot at 2110 got to parkway 2130. But I know what you mean there should be a uniform policy based on the fact chit happens. By the way I could count on one hand how many times I've been late in 39 years most caused by weather and unfortunately some terrorists

That is actually what they do, usually two or more groups to get the 50%+1 (The Majority of Votes) they need to keep the revenue flowing to the people who dont have to live under the contract.

The 95 contract is am example of targeting groups with incentives that really didn't do much for the members that worked under it. The Retirees got theirs and the Union got more Dues payers to replace those Retirees.

I see nothing in these negotiations that tells me they are going to do what's best for everyone, if they were we would be much more informed about what is going on. JMO.

This is what happen with the Passengers Service Agents group they targeted reservations and Naive LAA

There is no doubt TULE has always had a very relaxed culture,
Maybe it was not a good time to change the culture during a bankruptcy
and shortly after the company teamed with the TWU & Teamsters
to keep the base from changing representation.

Having to go explain why you needed to use sick day ( in which you
we're only paid 1/2 pay) to a snarky condescending prick every time
you are sick (the first time I had see the sick nazi I had 3 years of
perfect attendance and a maxed out sick bank) it tends to piss you off.

My point is my first 25 years I do not beleive I was late more then 2 or three times, since the time they quit counciling just the abusers and
found it nessesary to treat us all like a class of second graders, I find
myself using more sick days & when traffic backs up I no longer feel
the need to play NASCAR on highway 169 in order to make it on time.

Am I a bad employee? A jaded employee? Or a frustrated employee?
