So what happened to the UPS Ground Workers ( parcel handling )?

What happened is spelled out clearly in the IBT Constitution if any of their Members actually bothered to read it. (Or yourself for that matter)

Can’t say that I agree or disagree with the language but I absolutely do understand it. Without that language it would have been a very small minority of the total membership that would have decided a Strike.

Of course it is, my station isn't that big, so we wouldn't carry the votes anyway. The fact is Swarat talks about buyouts the back pay and signing bonus would have been a nice chunk of change!

driver if it’s any consolation that your vote choice did not win the day (Even though that count was never actually divulged by AMFA) I can bet that you will still get all of the back pay entitled to you when and or if your Negotiations are ever settled.

You’ll probably also be offered the same signing Bonus?

My feeling is they will pay the 6% for 2018 and 2023, and keep the back pay and the bonus, and send it back out sometime next year.

So you voted yes and more people voted no. System worked the way its supposec too. You should have gone out and encouraged a yes. Whats done is done.
If it was the Teamster it would have passed regardless of the number of NO votes. That's how the Teamsters roll.
Sought of like the association representation without a vote.

Wrong again.

The IBT Constitution is very specific and concise on that article.

According to AMFA the vote count was over 90% so the IBT would have been required to accept that tally just as they did for the tally of UPS AMT’s who voted no. You did see that the UPS AMT’s voted no right?

Have you been a liar your entire life?

He can't help if he thinks an independent union will get him a big contract with Parker. We are living proof of stuff taking forever at SWA!

You are just hell bent over backwards for your hatred of the AMFA I get it. It's when you come over to the AA board and try to tell us going independent is not such a good idea. You express your negativity for your current union representation. That's fine, your entitled. We on the AA side don't care about AMFA since they don't represent us. We are trying to move forward to better our representation. Please don't tell us or try to convince us to stay status que. We have enough Samsonite suitcase repositioning engineers throwing their views our way.

BTW, the Association said they will get us an ILC, not me. I'm looking to hold the association accountable to that statement. I personally don't care what happens at SWA under the AMFA because as a AMT at AA I have enough to deal with. No matter what you guys get or not we will only get what the association can beg from the company at this point.
As a member of this dysfunctional Association I have no voting power.
They will do whatever they want. I just hope they don't throw the white flag on the scope and outsourcing.

That's right. And the company now is adding new nego cmte members to try and get this done. Replacing the old nego cmte as well as the LEAD company nego who was promising that this last offer would pass. The company has moved and replaced some folks on the company nego team to other jobs and brought in some new folks to get this done. The company is not happy with the last nego cmte. and the results "they" produced. In my opinion, I feel that the new nego cmte and AMFA will be able to work through the remaining issues from the survey results and get this done, but, that's just me.

Exactly. The majority that voted, voted NO. The crooked teamsters overruled and forced the contract on them. How freakin pathetic...

BINGO!!!

You're right I don't like them, but I am stuck with them, just like if you can't get enough people on board your card drive you are stuck with your Association. You hate the fact that the IAM side gets more. I hate the fact that the other groups got theirs and get more in their profit sharing because it's based on what you make, no raise in 6 years, less profit sharing. I am sure AMFA pom pom boy Swarat doesn't advertise that. I also do not care what American Airlines AMTs make. That was one reason AMFA wanted people to vote no because others AMTs make more. That's nothing but a recuiting bragging tool, and nothing less.

Question on the upcoming conference call on 15th.
Is the mediator also participating?
Any reasons being heard on why it is a conference call and not an actual face to face??
It's good they meet, but wondering just how effective it may or may not be.
If it's an option rather than not meeting at all, I am all for it. Just trying to evaluate just how productive it would or would not be...

I had both replaced 8 years apart off work 10 weeks the first one and 8 weeks the second. stay on the drug schedule don't let the pain get ahead of you....I did the first time and paid the price big time

No I did not. Have many friends that have. One in particular, he took about 8-10 weeks. Although I am no Dr. I have heard not to just lay around as by doing so will cause "lock-up" of joints. They need to be exercised. Some folks even start early on (still in hospital beds) with overhead contraptions to help movements of legs and hips prior to getting discharged.
The pain will last a bit, but as avi says above, maintain the meds faithfully and no drinking alcohol with them. Give it time bro. Don't push it, let time and your body heal itself. We are all getting older now days, the man I mention took the full 10 weeks and might have even went into 12, but to this day, he is thank full for doing it.
Good luck on your recovery, hope your back to work soon, but may not happen until next year.
