Aircraft maint issues

You might be on too something. Protect the cash cow as long as possible. We get screwed with all the false promises from both company and the association. Pretty soon we will be approaching 2019 and still 5 holidays at 1 1/2 hourly rate and still maxed out at 5 weeks VC. VC selections start around October so if no JCBA we will again be selecting VC within our current BK agreement.

Bank on it. We have reached the tipping point for a jcba in 2018. LUS will continue to enjoy superior pay and benefits for another year. We will continue working under a concessionary, bankruptcy contract in 2019.

Well since it's now Saturday, I can report that there was no 591 weekly update from the Association. The old saying is, no news is good news. Well with the association no news is bad news. Sometimes new news is also bad news. Not even a GP video.

What are we suppose to be waiting for now? Is the association trying to figure a way to sugar coat the next bad news release? With the 12th of September approaching real soon and no agreement in place you would expect more information coming from the Association. It appears they are laid back planning something in the back room in secrecy. We can all guess and form opinions because we have nothing to go by and verify our assumptions. Urgency should be priority if we are to get a deal done before January. In January pilots begin talks and we will be stuck with the same VC and pay multiplier. How much longer should we wait? A top pay AMT is being extorted approximately $1,000 a year in union dues. That's a big load of money when multiplied by the number of AMTS.
It's like taxation without representation.

You complain when you get information, you complain when you don’t get information. Obviously nothing happened last week so there was nothing to be put out that you can complain about.

Can’t please someone who’s agenda goes above anything else.

Maybe they are doing some behind closed door deals. Maybe they are waiting for 9-12-18 for an announcement. Maybe... Nobody knows because of the lack of information to the members. This asso. has got to go. What is taking so long for the card drive? I hear what your saying, but if this asso is not taken out ASAP you guys are stuck with it for life...

Don’t get jealous now Buck. The Company still wants to chop the legs out from under your Scope too.

Get jealous, come on "Red Mike" I must have hit a nerve.. The Mechanics just want to go on their own why do you feel you should try and stop them?

Oh there one of you goes again with “The Mechanics” or “The AMT’s” line. As if you are the voice of all. Now that is such and absolutely ridiculous notion and you know it.

Now if you said “Many of the Mechanics” or “Many of the AMT’s” or “I” or “Some of us” I could fly with that.

You can’t use the term “Most” either because if that were true you either wouldn’t be in this Association now or had left the TWU years ago.

Can’t say the M&R in the IAM want out since they had a vote and decided to stay with the IAM. And the LAA M&R has never signed enough cards for any other Union to make any change.

Now stopping you has always and will always be incorrect. My mockery has always been more of a form of encouragement to try and PUSH you into actually getting it done. If I say you have a great shot or it’s going to happen then you become complacent. I don’t want you to become complacent (But I see I’m too late)

I looked up this “Red Mike” and I have to assume you’re implying the Old General and not the Urban Dictionary definition? I mean because if you’re talking about the Urban Dictionary definition then you’re calling yourself a bunch of girls here. You guys complain too much but I’ve never thought of you as a bunch of girls?

So let’s go with the General.

https://wikivisually.com/wiki/Mike_Quill No I did not mean the General. I meant the Communist who founded the TWU.

From wiki:
A close ally of the Communist Party USA for the first twelve years of his leadership of the union, he broke with it in 1948. He drove his former allies out of the union as they tried to control the union rather than continue to help it.

He was red indeed.

I'm surprised no one has posted about the recalling of AMTO classification back to AMTs in DWH.
OSMs will be able to backfill to DWH from TULE and this is going to exhaust the recall list.

This is a maintenance thread right?

Can a OSM upgrade to mechanic at DWH before a regular AMT with higher seniority transfer to DWH for same amt spot?
