Aircraft maint issues

Another issue we have. No scheduled negotiations for the month of September.
So what's the plan now from the Association? We are just going to sit and wait for? How much longer is this pathetic pace of negotiations going to continue for the AMT'S? I'm not interested in anything fleet service or stores. I want to see progress in our group. Three years of hello and see ya next time negotiations at the round table have got to come to an end.
I agree with you. But I hate to say that it really does appear that AA is playing the same playbook as SWA did with us as far as stall, stall, stall.

FYI, over here we are still voting on our offer. Had a computer glitch on TrueBallots side and some results were already released by accident. If the numbers are true and accurate with almost 2000 voting about 75% are no's so far. I do not think there are enough remaining if all voted yes to change it, therefore it looks as if ours will fail to pass, but I will wait for the official tally results before I call that one as final. So unfortunately it appears we are headed back to the table for nego's, just do not know when. All correspondences are on the SWA thread if you guys want more details.

Is there really no nego's set for you guys in Sep? Not saying you guys will do what we did but SWA put off nego's a couple of times for months before returning to the table. Then they thought we would all jump on the current offer. They are now finding out that the membership looks like they will be voting it down.
Good luck over there fellas. Now's the time to get your contract back...

From what I'm hearing from my shop stewards there are no dates set for this month which means nothing in the future.

I was told that the twu and the iam will meet on Oct 4 to discuss the direction that they want to go with neg. They were in Quebec together and could have done this then but apparently they had more important things to discuss. They also had a date of Sept 21 that they could have met but a couple of fleet presidents couldn't make it so that date was cancelled.

That’s the good old twu iam for you

And what does fleet service have to do with M&E? We are negotiating three separate work groups, aren't we? If fleet service can't meet its on them. Why should our group be penalized if another group can't schedule a negotiations session for their own reasons?

I'm sure it will all be explained in today's informative Associations Update...

Their lack of cohesion has been evident from the get go. After all this time it now is looking silly. That's being mild. No information being given to members that they can develop an idea on where things stand. They can't even figure out how to meet each other to decide how to proceed after all this time. No urgency at all.

I agree with you 100%. As far as being penalized why would the twu want to change their way of doing business now. The only way for us to get away from this type of negotiations is to SIGN A CARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your information is incorrect. This is not a meeting that is about negotiations specifically but a general TWU President’s council meeting to discuss any and all issues. The IAM will not be involved.

You are correct that the date of Sept 21 was asked but there were prior engagements and some thought it was a little early to schedule, thus early Oct instead.

Most Negotiations now are being conducted by phone if either side has an interest in movement. Formal proposals are not currently being presented back and forth since they’re essentially past that phase in talks.

You need to go above your Shop Steward to an Elected Official (If you actually talk to any of them) and ask them what is going on currently in the process.

If you guys are bored, head over to the Negotiations thread, they are playing Bingo over there. Already have a couple of winners. If your name is Troll though, sorry, you can't play. By the way, any talk about meetings and such is only rumor unless it's on official Association letter head and signed by the anonymous Executive Negotiations Committee.

Couldn't agree more with you. You know is really sad for all the groups. Why are 2 other groups on hold until one group is done nego. I can tell you why, this is a "fleet union" representing 3 different groups within the same contacts. Class and craft union would worry only about the mechanics as that is all they would have within contract. The other TWU and or IAM can worry about the others. Pull that trigger guys. Send a card in today...

Could it be that the no urgency is on the IAM side? This is really getting old. And your right, the non information is ridiculously pathetic. But it will help the card drive.

I believe the negotiators are resisting the company position of Scope for Fleet Service.

You might be on too something. Protect the cash cow as long as possible. We get screwed with all the false promises from both company and the association. Pretty soon we will be approaching 2019 and still 5 holidays at 1 1/2 hourly rate and still maxed out at 5 weeks VC. VC selections start around October so if no JCBA we will again be selecting VC within our current BK agreement.
