Aircraft maint issues

True, this weaasles character seams to conveniently hijack every thread. Then when said character is called on it, denies it. It will then claim to support AA's AMTs, and wish them well. No normal person has the time to put up as many posts as this character does. One can only conclude that this character is a paid shill of the industrial, "one size fits all" union.

So Vort, after reading the last update with the GP quotes about scope being the main topic and discussed in length, is there any more details what they discussed? Or is that all they are telling the members is that they talked about it?
In our case for several years our co. would not release what it was they wanted with scope. Once they finally did, that turned into being the biggest hold up for us with full retro and ins. taking a close 2nd and third seat. I am just curious why the asso. is not keeping the members updated with the scope ask? Is it a huge ask? If so I would fill in the membership as to get them on board with supporting the NC. The way they are keeping the details quiet and not updating the membership is having a reversed effect.

Thx for posting Weez. This illustrates the associations failure to fight for level playing field in my little piece of the operation at DWH. This is another check mark in the "cons" column when I consider a yes or no vote on an eventual JCBA. DWH just does not factor in as we are such a small part of the operation. Our wishes have been summarily dismissed from the outset.

“It”? “It”? Last time I checked I think I’m still an actual living breathing Human Being. An admittedly annoying one to all the BS Artists I come across such as yourself, but still a Human Being.

And I’ve said numerous times where I can be found on the ramp in MIA if you need to send over someone to confront me? Are you going to tell me that you don’t have one supporter in MIA you can send over to put me in my place?

BTW this post took about 2 minutes. Yep that took long.

Put you in your place? I make a casual observation about your need for attention on every topic, and your hijacking of AMT threads to get said attention. There is no BSing there, the evidence is right under your weaasle avatar - almost 17,000 posts. You're either on payroll with the international, or an attention starved fsc - maybe both. You really don't think any AMT is gonna take your advice - all things considered?

DWH being added to the base/overhaul world. We are a line hangar, doing line/OTS and scheduled work. Same hours/shifts/days off as the hangars across the field at DFW. The big difference is when an airplanes our tarmac a BOW is generated in DWMS effectively moving it from the line world to the base world. DWH midnights does not receive line pay nor midnight retention pay as our fellow AMTs at DFW hangars doing the same work, same schedules and shift. We gave Larry Pike and our current President a clear mandate of our desire to be treated equally as the guys at DFW. DWH being the island that it is. Our voices are largely ignored. That is why you see virtually everyone at DWH trying to transfer over to DFW.

Don’t recall offering much advice more than making statements, observations, comments or sharing info here.

Actually this is a pass time for me and nothing more. This place is pretty much bone dry dead. Think about it. You don’t even hit a dozen posters on here. Anyway here’s my little Gatehouse and there’s no TV to pass that time if I was into TV which I really am rarely into what my coworkers watch anyway. (Not a Sports watching fan)

Anyway again, not on any Union payroll. Not even a simple humble Shop Steward. On D1 right now in MIA though. Send someone over to check if you don’t believe me?

Thank you Hog. I hope you do get that extra pay because you absolutely do deserve it.

Aviation High School recently held its annual graduation ceremony. Approximately 440 students received their high school diploma, with many earning their Airframe and Powerplant licenses certifying them to work as mechanics in the airline industry.

This year, both the Valedictorian and Salutatorian were presented with IAM scholarships. There were several other airline representatives and sponsors that presented the graduates with donations and prizes, but the IAM remains the only labor organization that awards students with scholarships and tool boxes for their educational achievements.

"The IAM has enjoyed its long-standing partnership with Aviation High School and is honored each year to be a part of their graduation," said Transportation GVP Sito Pantoja and Aviation High School graduate. "We take great pride in providing scholarships and other necessary tools that help assist their students with their future endeavors."

Aviation High School, a New York City public school, has an incredible 93% graduation rate and many graduates have expressed a desire to work in the airline industry and become IAM members.

That's good they are getting kids into aviation, someone has to carry the banner, when we retire someday.

Aviation was one of the 4 High Schools I was considering when I graduated Junior High. I ultimately chose another School instead.
