Aircraft maint issues

But you didn’t have that agreement till after the merger . Imho instead of the iam negotiation before the jcba should have been working with the twu and getting us all a industry leading contract. Plus your contract is not that great better then twu but very far behind industry leading.
I agree with you on all points. Believe me I'm not bragging. Industry leading? That is to be seen. The iam, like the other airline associated company unions, are weak and toothless. Paper tigers. Imo the unions, along with the company, have teamed up to further divide the groups. They are trying to get us so frustrated that we will vote for whatever they hand down. I believe it is naive to think otherwise. On the surface it looks as though they are fighting for you but in reality the agreement has already been reached. They are just trying to sugarcoat it enough to get it passed. Just remember," the devil is in the details". Like Isom said," This airline will look nothing like it looks today".

Are you kidding me? I had T/A's in the past with articles incomplete to vote on. You know your getting screwed by a company loving union when you see a bunch of "TBD" buried in article language.
I remember those. TBD was on several articles on you contract and after the membership voted it in, BAM!! It was then that the results were brought out. I think the very same thing is coming again as others do out here. The union will not admit it though.

You just can't control yourself, can you?

I know the IAM is not happy with the companies letter. I feel the company is trying to create a hostile work environment. I for one can wait for a good contract. I don't want to give up my current medical benefits. I know Doug and Isom would just love a cost neutral contract. It is time for a real work action, follow the paper work to the letter!

I don't mind waiting but you know it will end up in mediation. As far as hostile environment goes, the association created that over greed.

I want to say good luck on your picketing at Wrigley field today and Sunday. I feel the TWU workers are at least trying to make the the flying public know what Doug is doing. I wish the IAM would do something!

The IAM can do something. They should resign from the association! They're not helping the situation!

What an abortion I am now a part of without any say so in the matter! You call that Unionism??

One Union, One Voice! Can anybody else grasp that concept?

One union. One voice. Yes I can. What a concept that would be if applied to unionism 101. The Association is NOT the one voice we have. We have over a dozen different groups in the association and two different unions. Wake up people, oh it's too late for that. Summer's almost over. Just a few more meetings then it's the holidays again.

Banner flying over Wrigley Field today.

Association, AA Executive Session Negotiations Continue

Brothers and Sisters,

After the fallout from the Company’s letter on Friday August 24th, the Executive Negotiating Committee met face to face with American Airlines this week in Washington DC. The ghost negotiators from the Company that were invited to join the talks did not show up. The Association is taking the high road and looking to secure an industry leading contract for our members and did not stoop to the pathetic approach that the Company took last week in trying to negotiate on the shop floor. Instead your Committee arrived ready to continue negotiations in an effort to produce the industry leading agreement you are entitled to.

The Executive Committee and the Company were able to reach tentative agreements on Status of Agreement for all groups, MCT Sick Leave, and have narrowed the issues for the groups in the Classifications and Qualifications articles. Additionally, an agreement was reached for initial aircraft inspections for the maintenance bases. The Negotiating Committee continues to review/modify contract language and give their recommendations to the Executive Committee.

The contractually agreed to Association wage increases due on September 12th, will be provided to all Mechanic & Related, Stores, Maintenance Training Specialists, and Fleet Service members.

The Committee sincerely thanks the membership for their continued support and showing of solidarity during this critical phase of negotiations!

Negotiations are scheduled to resume on the following weeks: September 11th Dallas/Fort Worth, October 2nd Washington DC, October 16th New York City. Your Committee is ready and willing to meet anytime - anywhere with the Company to bring you the Industry Leading contract you deserve.

Further along than we are !

Thank you TWU for the informational picketing in Chicago. I wish the IAM would do more to help our cause!!!! Keep doing these informational picketing, I really feel that the flying public will notice and start thinking about their safety. Especially that their aircraft maintenance is being done by foreign workers.
