Aircraft maint issues

You guys are past your amendable date and under federal mediation. We on the other hand are trying to get a JCBA but the company has no obligation to do so until out contracts become amendable. Then comes mediation. I hope not but that's how things happen here at AA and the TWU. We have all experienced the long drawn out process of negotiations with one company or another with one union or another. If it gets as far as arbitration you can figure at that point we will be at least 5 years past amendable dates. I hope it doesn't get anywhere near that far down the road. I just don't see a T/A to vote on anytime soon unless one side gives in to the other. Hopefully the company will give in. Wishful thinking on my part.
When does you guys contract become amenable ours was August of 2012, I suspect we will eventually bend some more to get a deal done, just my feeling , hope you guys get your issues fixed

AA is September 2019.
I believe but need to verify that USAIR is in the same month.

Hey I did say in the same month. You assumed it was the same year. LOL.
Thanks for the update. Kind of makes you wonder if AA and the Association will get serious after this September or wait until next September when both CBA'S will be amendable?

Ain't nothing gonna happen before the amendable date at the earliest. jmo!

Don't be in such a hurry to "get it done". If you think you're under a concessionary agreement now, it will be worse if you agree to any of this. Your better off letting it drag on. It remains status quo. I understand that for the LAA guys that anything is a step up, but for LUS it has major concessions. The twu and the company have had you locked in a closet for so long, you don't realize that there is another world on the other side of the door. I'm not saying the iam is any better but, imo, their agreement is.

Agree but no more excuses from the IAM leadership. It's a we effort in this association. The IAM did not want to be forced out or secede like the other two groups. They wanted to stay in it for the dues. Now it's time to get together in being as vocal as the TWU in getting that long promised Industry Leading Contract.
The message we are seeing on the floor is the wrong one from the IAM leadership. Being silent and rolling over until the right time to stand up is only dragging things on. Do we really want this to go 2019 and beyond? Do we want to go to mediation? Will we be forced into arbitration? The further we go the worse it will be for us. Now is the time for the IAM leadership to hold hands with the TWU leadership and get this JCBA done. Take note that I mentioned IAM leadership not the IAM represented members working for AA. Big difference.

If the company opened the door by putting out information on the offer. Why won't the union put the complete offer out for US to see and read for ourselves.
You want to know why. Because they are hiding something. They work for US. If we want to see it what reason do they have to not let us. WAKE UP PEOPLE
This is what I have said Free. I really don't think any of you (including some of the insiders posting) will hear of the "hidden" stuff until T/A time, that's when it's gonna hit the membership like a freight train. Then the scare tactics will follow to get a yes vote from the membership, both these unions are known for it.

Are you kidding me? I had T/A's in the past with articles incomplete to vote on. You know your getting screwed by a company loving union when you see a bunch of "TBD" buried in article language.

I believe that it was the AFL-CIO leadership that came up with this association bs that was rammed down our throats. The LUS mechs didn't want it either. I have not talked to anybody that would want to be twu though. Your agreement is horrible. I agree that there seems to be little participation from the iam. There is probably more in-fighting than we are led to believe. We're being told that nobody from the twu is telling them about up coming picketing and such. I don't believe anything coming from the unions as they are self serving. Neither the iam or twu will do anything to force the company hand. The company has nothing to fear from us. That is obvious by the daily performance stats. It's time to stop being vocal. Actions speak louder. This is the last chance we'll have to get a decent agreement.

You know WeAAsles it's funny you should post that because I was thinking of a Matrix scene myself.

Only this is the scene I thought of.

This is how I imagine the AA/TWU negotiations.

I think you can figure out which is the TWU and which is the company on your own.

Come to think of it this scene is not far off from an American Airlines attendance "discussion"

But you didn’t have that agreement till after the merger . Imho instead of the iam negotiation before the jcba should have been working with the twu and getting us all a industry leading contract. Plus your contract is not that great better then twu but very far behind industry leading.
