Afa Meeting

NAPAUS:

You can just hold it right there. Most of my good friends at this airline are fairly SR and several of them have over 20 years! I don't HATE other F/A's here at USAirways however, I do think some are completely disconnected as to what is going on and what some of there FELLOW F/A's are living under. Glad to hear you took the time to educate yourself on the LTO Reserve System but rest assured you are in the minority of blockholders on that issue.
And your right, quitting is an option but I have said it before and will say it again...
A lot of people including myself are here because we like the job. It's not because we are not educated or need the job but because we like it! I can go somewhere else and make more money but this is what I like to do. Everyone has that bar where it's not worth it anymore. The main thing that a large majority of F/A's at USAirwyas forget is seniority is a two way street...people under you and people over you. I have watched my seniority slip away until I have NONE and then even if I had some on the reserve system it wouldn't count for doo squat. And your right...AFA will and should go in and try to get a better reserve system because I know this time the reserves (or people who might fall on reserve) won't have it.
And don't lecture me on PITBull.....I have nothing but the highest respect for her and no one will fight harder for us. We might not see eye to eye all the time but who the heck does? Some of the biggest arguments happen in the most tight knit families. I have worked at other airlines and have good friends at other major carriers and I can tell you that USAiways F/A's are THE MOST seniority driven group of F/A's out there. It's like a culture and as long as that's the case then there will always be a divide, but what can you do? We all have to stick together and fight for each other and not with each other. People don't seem to read what I post carefully and just draw thier own conclusions.

USAirBoyA330: I concur and whole heartedly agree with your post. Very well said.
90% of the time in may career here I have flown with all Senior folks. I am use to being most junior. Just flew with a 25 and 20 yr. Sr. F/A's. They were great and great at their job.I have flown many trips with 30-35 yr. F/A's and had a ball with them. Many more are becoming Aware of the Rsv. situation and find it deplorable. Many are still in the dark.

When given the opportunity, I try to enlighten them, but I don't hold it against them or the time that they have in with the company.

I do think, that if more Seniors are faced with the possiblity and reality, that they too could end up on this suckass system, they will come out full force to protect their seniority and livelihood.

Ironically, my last several trips (all very Senior to me) have all expressed that they are ready to move on and have started making plans for another job. Many of them too, are just as fed up.

Ironically, I find that many, many of the most Jr. folks are the ones who think life is grand here at U. They are flying more and getting better trips.

We all hear that we have to pay our dues, but those folks hired between 89-94 have paid the highest. :(

We will get that seniority back, rest assured. :)
