Sorry for the Hijack,
"Funny, just night before last, the chairman of ExxonMobil (a well-known "wacky left wing" organization) said in a TV interview that "there was no source of oil in the world that would make an appreciable dent in the U.S. dependence upon Middle East oil for the foreseeable future.""

No sh1t?! The world uses approx 80 million barrels a day ANWR would produce 1.5 million a day. It would be five years before it reached that level. Is a five-year span the "foreseeable future"? Doubtful. What he was likely referring to was the fact that we have no way of bumping up production TODAY. Most world excess oil production capability lies in Saudi. The 1.5 million barrels a day is derived from the median numbers when the opinions of both sides are considered. Of course you'd know the parameters if you'd bothered to check the link before spouting off. In any case, the share of the worlds markets held by OPEC has dropped from approx 70% during the oil embargo days of the 70's to approx 40% today. Good thing we kept exploration going. If not, they'd probably hold and even higher percent today. Next I guess you're going to tell us how the oil embargo was responsible for the gas lines of the 70's.
"Is this the same source that predicted that the Bush tax cuts would eliminate the deficit?"
No the source is "The Economist". They even spell their words wrong (i.e. "labour"). IOW, it's published in GB and, while often highly critical of the Bush administration, provides a wealth of economic data, and often debunks the wild assertions that play well to the undereducated constituencies that make up the US left.
"Your share (and your children's share and your grandchildren's share) of the war cost is $50,000 each."
There you go, once again citing inaccurate data. It was a JOKE. Are you capable of math? Sit down and run the numbers. 250 million people X $50,000 You telling us the war cost $12.5 TRILLION? But wouldn't want the truth to get in the way of a good rant would you.
"I worked in the oil business for over 20 years."
Pumping gas doesn't count....
