N441US probably had a crack in the windowframe like N440US did ...That's a 737-400, and not currently in service with US from what I can see.
The crack in the window frame is clearly visible.
American Airlines simply couldn’t keep up.
Most airlines found a way back to profitability in the last few years by shedding costs through bankruptcy, reducing capacity and merging with one another. But American lost passengers to newly merged carriers like Delta Air Lines and United Airlines as well as low-cost competitors like Southwest Airlines. It retrenched around fewer hub airports. It struggled with older, jet fuel-guzzling planes and delayed renewing its fleet.

INTERVIEW:
Bethune expects to see US Airways, American merger pushJK,
Let me translate what DP is really saying there.
Don't expect us to make a successful bid for AA if we do at all. They now have 4.8B$ according to BK filings, and we need to figure out how to keep our employees at the bottom of the barrel in terms of total compensation. Never mind that every other carrier out there is re-tooling their fleet with the next gen of the next gen..AND growing, or soon to grow. We may be able to add a frequency to Charlottesville if we see the opportunity. We are fine with a network that is supported by regional feed on nearly 1-1 basis. We could go on like this forever if you just remember that we have to be the lowest paid because our network doesn't produce like others. Merry Christmas, DP.
Mod note- PLEASE do not quote an article that long to add a few lines. THANKS!

Bethune expects to see US Airways, American merger push

Former Continental Airlines CEO Gordon Bethune said on CNBC this morning there is a likelihood of a merger push involving Tempe-based US Airways Group Inc. and American Airlines.
Bethune, who serves on some major corporate boards, said US Airways CEO Doug Parker made merger runs at Delta Air Lines and United Airlines so it would be no surprise if some efforts were undertaken to merge with Dallas-based American.
The AA creditors' committee and AA management are likely to be no more receptive to Drunken Parker's advances than were Delta's creditors' committee and management. Parker desperately wants to run a world-class airline but IMO, he won't win control of AA.God help us if this happens!!!!
