A Plea To The Judge!

Let see a A330 Capt before concessions made in excess of $250,000 a year, a top out utility made $39,000.

You make more you give more, lets see you also had million dollar plus lump sum payments upon retirement, utility did not.

Let see who is hurt more by a 23% paycut, someone making $200,000 or someone making $35,000?

And I made over $9,600 less per year for the past two years and there are some who made $21,000 less per year for the past two years. See you forget, there were mechanics who got knocked back to utility and stock clerks, and there were stock clerks knocked back to utility.

Who supplied you with the table the company? I can show you my W2, that is a bit more accurate then the company's propaganda.

And that does not count the increase medical.

One more thing, don't blame me for what I made, sorry my union did a better job then alpa.

Well, 700UW, the reason is most of the rest of the employees have reached their "bottom lines" in what they're willing to accept . . . . hence the resolute stance. For the pilots, they aren't anywhere near their "bottom line." Hence, they're pushing other employee groups to genuflect to Lakefield's demands. They also know that most of those left at U ALPA might not be furloughed (assuming the plan works), whereas a lot more other employee groups are going to be gone . . . . outsourced like you can't belive.

So like I said 700UW, let's compare the two of us, instead of those who gave even more.

Fact is, that you like to toss the total concessions amount around like you wrote the check yourself, please.

Giving me crap about how you "payed" for MDA, when in reality you only gave a fraction of the concessions that had been given in the past is not right. Damn right I am flying that jet, I earned the right, and have personally gave more concessions and have seen my job downgrade far more than you have ( and Pit Bull too).

I live in your tax braket sport, I know what it is to give up the 23%, but I also know that I could leave if I could not cope, and that still remains an option.

77% of your pay is still greater than unemployment bennies, trust me, I know what that is like too.

The point is that people need to stop crying over the past, deal with the present, and stop kidding themselves that this will not all come to a grinding halt real soon if something drastic is not done. Like or dislike the current management, they are no easier to replace than you are at this point.

Our best bet is to try once again to make this work, liquidation serves no one here. Trust me, I have been through that before as well.

A trustee sound like sweet revenge to some of you, work actions/strikes sound like a means to regain control over your situations, but reality is that neither will see the light of day before the doors are simply closed.

some might think that is the "ultimate payback", but having been there I can tell you that no one cares, just like many of you barely even remember Eastern or Pan Am... Airways will be nothign more than a footnote. And each of us will have to start somewhere new (if lucky) for probably less pay and more work.

So if you have to dwell in fantasy-land, wait until this place does close. Until then please be real and do your best to help keep 77% of your pay for now.

I am so glad you just ignored everything I posted, shows your are truly scared.

Like I have said, there is no working with Jerry Glass and Company, they cannot be trusted and have shown that over and over and over.

And I remember Eastern very well, my uncle was an inspector for 29 years with them.

I remember Pan Am very well, even worked along side them at LGA.

Funny Pan Am gave concession after concession for years and where did those employees end up?

After Lorenzo bleed EA to death, the employees had enough, the mechanics, ramp, agents, pilot and F/As went on strike, the court REMOVED Lorenzo from EA and the government banned him from the industry for life.

Funny how you neglected those facts about those two carriers.

Lets bring up a third, TWA gave FIVE rounds of concessions and where are their employees now?

95% of them are laid-off by AA.

I for one would rather die with dignity then live in fear as a coward.

Name one airline that has been saved from extinction or bankruptcy from employee concessions alone?

Let me give the answer: NONE!

Many many people can totally relate, Rico.
Losing your job, (especially when it's one you like) really sucks.

Well if it is so pull pluggy time, WTF are you wasting your time worryng about this place then, wasting your time writiing about the place.

Why not leave now?

You must have tons of options all lined up and ready to support you in the fashion you have become used to.

I can see it now...

"What, no TV in our break room...?"

"I have to work my entire shift, the entire time...?"

"I have to pay to fly to fill in the blank"

"How come no one here cares about how we stood up to Airways..?"

"Wow, this is the same stuff I had to put up with at Airways, huh, I thought the grass would have been greener here..."

The nice thing about the judge calling the shots 700, you wont be able to blame management anymore, You can blame yet another person.... The Judge! Then What?

What you forget is the employees in the "lower tax brackets" CAN survive on unemployment for a period of time and that is the reason most are not just quitting. After the emergency pay cuts and then the next round of pay cuts next spring, a good many would be better off on unemployment for awhile. Unemployment benefits will pay just about as much as US with unlimited sick days, all nights, weekends and holidays off and they won't have to put up with all the US "BS". Most likely there would be plenty of tax refund money to cover taxes due for unemployment. The biggest issue will be no insurance but, from what I have heard from many, is they can switch to a spouse's insurance or at least obtain insurance for children and possibly for themselves through Chip.

Many would prefer this option. It is the employees that can still afford to give back that won't be able to survive on unemployment. What it boils down to is, are there more employees that can't afford more cuts and would rather see this rabid dog put out of its misery or are there more employees that can afford to give up what ever it takes to keep it limping along for who knows how long? If there are more of the first group this dog is doomed no matter what?

Boy o boy, here we go again with the IAM comparing utility making $40k and pilots making $250k...both are way too much...why, because the market won't bear it. I would say both are 20% to high...market rates market rates market rates.....

iam-m would be much better off if they didn't have lesser skilled employees dragging them down...i guess in terms of dues it works out to have more employees to feed the machine!!!!
