" A BIG F A T. . . . CON JOB " !

That was a DAM GOOD TIME J. GREAT Hotel, KC's best, the FAIRMONT. Stayed up on the concierge level, WHERE, one of NYC's best Actors was also staying. Paul Sorvino !! We're at the concierge level bar (PS, Me and My Ol' lady), Who puts her hand out, and says " I NEED $$$$$, for Shopping"
I look over at PS, put my hands up and shrug, as much as to say, W T F just happened ?? PS laughed and said " It only gets worse 'Pal(ly)', Not better !!! Jesus, I swear I'll NEVER forget that trip !!!!!!!!!! Kansas City. Dam good BBQ too. As for the 3 game series / NY-KC, I'm STILL in SHOCK that the then, lowly KC Royals, SWEPT NY, all three games. %&#@x(_+%$# !!

Some things have changed since then. The Fairmont is now the Intercontinental. The Royals are working their way back to where they were when you were here. But a few short years ago, they were in the World Series. And this town was amazing that October. EVERYTHNG was blue. My daughter grew up loving the Royals (went to prom with George Brett's son) and I thought as a treat, I'd buy her and her fiancee tickets to one of the games. $750 for one standing room ticket was a bit more than I could manage.

Hack, I really don't think K.C., or bears, have seen any military service. ...... Just saying.

Sounds like Bears and KCFriers excellent geezer adventures.
Blue in October, George Bretts son at prom, past World Series, and base ball ticket prices. Sounds like a riveting People Magazine life story article.

Or a "BIG FAT.....CON JOB"!

Yes. Much more interesting than your story. Staring at the walls of a small room while angrily punching at a keyboard with the letters t,r,d and a rubed off the key.

Like most on the left, they despise the military, police, ICE, and the Border Patrol. Most leftists couldn't pass the back round check or basic.

I have seen as much military service as Trump. Vietnam and the drafted ended when I turned 18. Almost joined the Navy but decided, like Dick Cheney, that I had other things I wanted to do. So yeah...I didn't see any kind of military service. Just like your heros.

"Almost", How do you do that? ...... Figures!

Does that puzzle you? Well..back in 1975, the military went to volunteer. My buddy was going to join the Navy and at that time, they had a program where you and a friend could go thru basics together. I went down with him and took the tests. The recruiter (Judd Brown, Dallas, TX) called me later and said I scored very high on the math and English portion of the test. He said that I could go far in the Navy. I was only 17 at the time. Judd called me on the morning of my 18th birthday and said that the Navy was waiting. By that time, I had decided that this wasn't something I wanted to pursue. In retrospect, I should have. But I didn't. That's how you "almost" do something.

I don't have any hero's, especially people in government. It's a good thing you didn't serve in Vietnam KCFrier, I imagine you would have been like John "I'm still SOS" Kerry, who threw his Vietnam medals away. Dick Blumanthal just lies and then cries about his fake service in Vietnam, and then has the BAHLS to question a very respectable Judge Kavanaugh on his past.
Dicky B also got 5 Vietnam draft deferments.

How long would Trump have lasted in Nam? How many deferments did HE get. My deferment was being under 18 during the war. He was "of age". Thank God the bone spurs healed...I hear it's HARD to play any golf when they act up.

My question would be how long would you have lasted?

He would have gone to Canada, with his bicycle and Ken and Barbie dolls.:D Could you imagine KCF carrying an M16? That would be scary.
