Sokol had a meeting this morning and announced the 4th line will in fact start next year. Guess they gave up on trying to get rid of it ...

Did they not say it was going to be a 8Y 717 line?

The 4 line will be a heavy 717 check and turn into a heavy 737 check once all 717's are shipped over to Delta. Wasn't told it would spacifIcally be an 8Y.

Good for you guys. Here at AA we also have new lines. The only problem is that we will not be doing the work. The new lines will be in Asia. The TWU made sure of that. Glad to hear more stations opening up at SWA. Should be getting some experienced AMT's from AA applying in due time.

I heard that heavy 717 line is actually a 717 C check line. That's not a heavy line.

I agree with you that "C" check is not heavy. I was told heavy, not "C" check. The language spacifically says heavy maint. To me that means mirroring the other 3 lines in Dallas, not a "C" check. I have heard the that ATL, MCO, and maybe even BWI or Chicago will get the "C" checks. But they are leaning heavily on ALT and MCO will get-em...
