Obviously you didn't read coneheads rant about baggage handlers getting $29 an hour to "throw bags"...
Like I said before, this fictional character you mention, is a TWU installed troll.  As a further insult; for perceived realism, they removed any basic english or spelling ability.

Copy that, Vortilon

Amid unprecedented company and industry profitability, the TWU-IAM Association today announced that it commenced the largest ever joint contract negotiations with American Airlines for approximately 30,000 ground workers in Dallas, Texas.

“American Airlines is booking record profits quarter after quarter because of its merger with US Airways. The carrier will more than double its earnings this year as compared to last year’s results,” said Association Chairman and Vice Chairman Sito Pantoja and Harry Lombardo, respectively. “The time has come for the 30,000 TWU-IAM Association members to achieve what they rightfully deserve: the industry’s best contracts."

“It was these workers who sacrificed when times were bad and made it possible for American to not only survive, but now thrive,” continued Pantoja and Lombardo. “It’s high time they receive their just rewards by attaining the job security, compensation, working conditions and the dignified retirement they rightfully deserve. Nothing less will suffice."

American Airlines and US Airways merged in 2013, creating the largest global airline. In response to that consolidation, the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) and the Transport Workers Union (TWU) formed a labor alliance, representing approximately 30,000 Mechanic and Related, Fleet Service and Stores/Logistics employees. Prior to the merger, the TWU represented pre-merger ground workers at American and the IAM represented their pre-merger US Airways counterparts.

The TWU-IAM Association is the largest labor union at American Airlines.

No one made anyone stay employed with AA or US. If you thought you were been short changed you should have left. the problem is half of the guys at AA could not ever left this job and make half of what they are making at AA regardless of whatever contract they where under. So blame the Union the company but ultimately blame yourselves.
I was not short changed by the company and I do blame myself as an AMT for not having the ability to convince my peers to change.

It is not always about compensation at AA, it is about compensation among my peers in the industry I work.

You're a fool for staying at AA for so long, you should have gone to spirit mro. But you're a goofball for comparing cancer to a frozen pension plan and $38 an hour. Look what has happened over the last 30 years to TWA, eastern, pan am, employees and you're equating working for an airline having Saturday Sunday and holidays off with your family to cancer, when all you had to do is get another job.

You are truly a waste of time.
"If you recall I would prefer to be non union because of these very reasons,"

and you stayed in a union represented employment?

Whether I have the weekends off or not, which I do not, does not matter in the context I was using the word "cancer".
You are a "goofball" for staying in a union job when you admit you would rather not. My word "cancer" is referring to the inability of gaining equal compensation with my peers at the other air carriers. I also have political reasons, but I too need this job, I never said I did not want to be union as you did. I am just striving for a mechanics union whoever that is.

Yup, read the email. It's all a self pat on the back release from the Association. Now we will see if they will shove the loser IAMPF down our throats over the 401K match.

So it is a joint contract after all?

Perhaps the mechanics will be given the opportunity not to have the IAMPF even if the other work groups want it?

Don't bet on it. The Association was formed to save the IAMPF from becoming insolvent in the near future. I would be surprised if the association would make it optional over the 401K match. The sad thing is the Association is more focused on the IAMPF instead of trying to increase our 401K match percentage.

Why don't you ask the company why they didn't give the union a proposal?

Gee you all touted the company is ready and Parker told you.

Where do you dream this stuff up?

Maybe you need to be drug tested.

I believe what you were told is that the company, Doug Parker himself, told us he was ready. hmmm and no real information from the Association? if there is information it is reactionary. We still have no information on many subjects inside the company that you know nothing about.
