How about uneducated parents having to work 2 jobs in our new service based economy, with no time to spend nurturing the child's education.

WRONG!
It has been widely agreed that if the decline of the middle class were to be pinpointed as beginning as a result of one single event, that event was for the first time in US History a Japanese Company won the bid to provide structural steel for a US built Skyscraper. The Skyscraper in question was the World Trade Center. The steel bid award was during the Carter Years and I think 1977 and was a tell tale sign that the 40 years and a gold watch era for US manufacturing workers was about to be over.
The US Department of Education was also created under Carter. To me the rise of the NEA in both members and power, the economic chaos, Creation of the Federal Dept of Ed are largely responsible for the decline in school performance. Throw in Crime, Poverty, Immigration if you like but as I said before they were always there, the other items weren't
I was being facetious. Of course it started long before that. Any serious thinker knows that these problems are not the fault of Obama or Bush. The problems run much deeper than one administration.
We have a global economy now. We need to embrace it and stop the isolationist thinking if we are to be a leader in it.
So you favor the global socialism now in movement and the destruction of middle class America that goes along with it?
And to being a leader in it, with Obama out there kissing every rulers butt and bowing and kowtowing and taking a back seat in foreign policy, you support his agenda of diminishing America?
