With all of the unused space at DFW and the investment made there they should shutter DAL and or tighten the Wright restrictions to prevent penalizing the carriers that had to make the move originally.
Maybe if the Wright Amendment had been repealed some time ago, all that money wasted building unused capacity at DFW wouldn't have been spent.

It wasn't wasted. Delta used to occupy all of terminal E and had to build a satellite terminal to handle the loads.

This is what should happen to Love Field

THE $3.8 BILLION OPTION FOR LOVE FIELD By Victor Lissiak, Jr. P.E.

The anti-Wright people love to point to other cities as examples. Denver Stapleton, Austin Mueller, ..., Love Field! Denver and Austin are still served by Southwest at the new airport. In Denver and Austin, the airport code didn't change, so maybe we should also change the DFW airport code to DAL. ;)

Again...splitting hairs. I'm not argueing that foreign carriers will begin service within the US. We are talking about Fifth Freedom which is country A to country B to country C...not Cabotage which is country A to country B to country B. And PUHLEASE...like I said...the argument you made is that foreign carriers can essentially only fly RTs to DFW from their home countries b/c, as you state, anything else would be cabotage...but that is not accurate. Carriers can flow through the US if granted 5th freedom (i.e. open skies) and most carriers (all?) can carry pax from DFW to one country and then on to another. So in other words, there are plenty of O&Ds that foreign carriers can serve out of DFW. The unfortunate thing is that AA will defend until the death if any carrier wants to take them on in their fortress.

How many countries/airlines have 5th freedom rights in the US? I think you are also splitting hairs with the foreign carrier argument. A foreign air carrier can take passengers from the US to points other than their home country, BUT only after going to their home country. The issue is a foreign carrier would not financially be able to create a hub or focus at DFW.

Let's take this train back to the station b/c it has been derailed enough.

Original argument:
DFW's "incentives" to carriers for starting international routes is hollow as it really still gives AMR the highest potential for benefit due to their hub status as well as recent vision towards Asia. Other carriers will find it quite difficult to go up against AA on current international routes and - using the laws of probability - will never have the potential to receive nearly as many funds from DFW as does AMR.

Your counter argument have all been excuses as to why that is so...but doesn't really refute the original point. I don't wish to go 'round and 'round about an argument that actually supports the original one. We're both arguing in the same direction so it is pointless.

A deal on ending Wright Amendment restrictions may be near:

"The mayors of Dallas and Fort Worth have agreed to seek a 9-year phase-out of restrictions on long-haul flights and allow immediate through-ticketing at Love Field, according to a Dallas official close to the negotiation.

The official, who spoke Friday on condition of anonymity because of the stakes involved between the two airlines, said the agreement would also reduce Love Field from 32 gates to 20 gates."

Discussions by the mayors will be in progress thru Wed and then WN and AA will be included and must agree on the compromise.Hope it's a fair one and that simple but I don't think so.If not agreed, then on to Congress. We'll see???
