apologies in advance if this isn't the appropriate board.

in an incredible twist of irony, I have been contacted about a position in Southwest's IT shop. anyone work there or have experience there? how is it?

I had looked on Vault for information but most of the info is from years ago.

Thanks!

we just had a ramper in LAS transfer to IT at HDQ and loves it. There is allot of up and coming technologies that are coming to Southwest so in my opinion its a great opportunity!!

People at the help desk are great! Our local guys are easy going guys as well. Just remember in Baltimore MX when we encounter computer problems we usually preform a 6 foot drop test before we call you all.

Finally, it will enhance your position with in the group if you look like this guy:

That way we know who you are.

As a former IT person, I would say that at major corporations one IT shop is about the same as any other from a technical/hardware/software perspective. The difference is the corporation itself. You could not possibly do better that SWA from an employee standpoint.

thanks. The opportunity may not come to pass (other companies are coming up with offers faster than Southwest). I appreciate it.
