WN Mechanics seek mediation

Welcome to the real world where the few always screw things up for the many. Nice to know you are so squeaky clean and self-righteous. One man's use is another man's abuse.
Amen, I don't abuse it either, I don't think I have used a sick day is 4 years, sorry for my anger and frustration, now about this mediation/ Arbitration, thoughts?

Obviously mediated negotiations are not producing any real results. In my opinion Med/Arb might be worth a try as long as we aren't bound by it.

It is not binding we get to vote on it, last thing I saw pay wise company offering top out for a mechanic, not lead or inspector, 55. 75 by 2021,-which is 12 to 13% above industry, AMFA asking for 24% above for a top out mechanic close to $62 all in by 2021, thats what I saw on last update from the company

I watched that video. I like AMFA's numbers better.

Agreed.

The company's numbers are laughable due to their very light proposed signing bonus. I am out way more than that.

But the numbers still don't even come close to the amount of money the company will save for the zero time language change and they want us to throw that in for free with the rest of their must have language concessions which all save the company money at our expense.

Only a short sighted fool would vote for this lopsided deal.

Are you in that camp 737 driver?

Don't think we will hit AMFA number, if we are still here next year, probably adust some work rules, don't give the farm away, and the deal will be done. Airlines have always looked as maintenance as cost, unless we run an MRO or do maintenance for other Airlines, we don't produce a profit, unlike the F/A, pilots, or bag handlers, plus if we move freight that produces a profit! :)

I would have to read it, to see how bad the trade off would be, but we have nothing to look at!

I call BS!!!!
If you were who you say you are, and not a company plant, you know very well what the company offer is.
We have been given this info over and over in detail!
They haven't moved.

I never said it has changed I just said what it was, we will get what we will get when we get a T/ A if ever don't-get mad , If we don't like it, it doesn't get voted in simple as that, but at least we would have somewhere to start to work on to eventually get a contract either this year, which I highly doubt, or sometime in the next two years !

You also still ducked the question and wont say if you would vote yes for the company POS offer that they have been pushing for two years.

I would have to read it, see how it would affect me, see how it would affect the less senior guys, does everyone get to stay in the cities they are in, working the shifts and most of their bid locations, can we still get to do downlines, what are the other affects, how much work are we going to keep, and in writing not we will take care of it, trust us. I think we need a bigger signing bonus and some kind of poison pill for a cost of living, if the next on gets dragged out, like this has, also if you want to overset the cost of health care insurance, we all buy tools, put like $80 a month tool allowance in the contract, that way the other groups can't have a me too clause, what do you guys want ?

Let me clear it up for you.

The company says NO to everything you want.
The new language concessions they want will give them the flexibility to change most of the things in your first sentence and they wont give us any other job protections other than 2.75 mechs per a/c.

They might go for your idea for $80 a month for tools because they wont have pay time and a half, double or triple time on that unless it was instead another $0.46 an hour added to our base pay.
That's a big win for them and a lose for us if we fall for that instead of more hourly pay.

We already know what the company is offering and I have only heard of one single person who says that offer is anywhere close to deserving a yes vote.
With a deal being offered that is so bad and lopsided in the company's favor I still support the idea of waiting for the company's new maintenance program to be delayed, and our current work protected by the contract and the status quo, until the other side starts actually negotiating a TA instead of demanding huge giveaways from us for peanuts.

I also will admit that some guys want a vote to tell them where to put this offer but I still think that we should back the negotiating team on this decision. They have had to face the blatant disrespect at the table yet still hold firm to protecting our hard fought for current language.

So you know the current offer and admit you have known it hasn't changed for quite a while, how would you vote on it?

yes, no, maybe or like me.
Hell NO.

If you have no opinion on the current offer then I know for a fact you are a company plant who joined this site less than 2 weeks ago just to stir up the pot and to try and get this POS out for a vote so the company can put the screws to the vulnerable amongst us.

Thank you for that.
There is plenty of information from the union, without the company spin cycle, about the way this has gone.
Nobody in the union should ever claim they don't know what's going on or how bad the company offer really is.
I still believe it isn't even close to being considered as a TA.
It is more like a company ransom demand letter and doesn't deserve a vote until changed.
